About Me
Ahh November, the end of the foliage season and the harbinger of the forthcoming Holiday season. Double digits to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Scary thought isn't it. Where or where did the summer go. Oh wait did we have a summer? If we did it sure was a fleeting one. All I seem to remember is a lot of wet, soggy days. Oh well, I digress, November, the month of cool days and cold nights. Fires in the fireplace, apple pies cooking in the stove and eventually turkey. Turkey dinner, turkey sandwiches, turkey Ala King, turkey hash, turkey over turkey. You know how it goes. Actually I love turkey, looking forward to cooking this years bird and chowing down on it. Would be nice to have someone to share it with along with all the rest of the holiday festivities. OK, I have rambled on long enough in this preamble so now you have to prepare yourself for an even longer but fascinating read. You never know, there just might be something in all the following verbiage that you might find interesting, compelling, or maybe just downright intriguing. Now, finally, presenting to you the reason you are here in the first place. Namely:

"ME!"

This is the part that just doesn't change. This is me, who I am and what I am about. I have been divorced a long time now, and that means simply that there is no baggage. I am a man who is looking for the love of his life and quite simply the last love of his life. Bottom line, I WANT to have a partner in my life, not I NEED someone. Those two words make all the difference in the world. Over the years I've found that travelling through life alone really does suck to be blunt about it. OK, now some basic facts about me. I'm domesticated to the extent that I can cook, clean, sew, run and maintain a house. Lastly, and probably most important, I am on a intimate, first name basis with all my kitchen appliances. Translated that means I know how to use them without hurting myself or any bystanders. Again the bottom line is: a man who is confident in himself, is self sufficient, house broken, innovative, imaginative, a DIY'er who knows his limitations, intelligent, gainfully employed (damn shame that you have to list that attribute nowadays), has integrity, is loyal and a man who is not embarrassed to stop and ask directions from a total stranger as opposed to riding aimlessly around for hours. Finally appearance, the photos are current, so what you see is what you get, no surprises. I'm not Adonis but then I'm not Quasimodo either. Just an average 60 year old guy.

What am I looking for? A best friend, confidant, playmate, lover, & finally someone to be a life partner. Yeah I know, I want it all, but then why settle for less. Very tired of riding through life one up and have to admit that I would not object to having a significant other in my life again. Coming home to an empty house is not on my favorites list & I have been doing it for far too long now. Admittedly a romantic (sometimes too much so but there are worse faults that I could have you know), firmly believe in PDA such as holding hands and stealing a kiss and hug. Cuddling together while watching a movie, sharing a glass of wine while hashing over the days activities, a squeeze and a stolen kiss while in the kitchen are most definitely on my favorites list. And finally, to totally destroy the stereotype picture of the single male, I actually don't mind going shopping, be it for groceries or other things. Even simply just browsing and window shopping is enjoyable. And by the way, I have no problem holding your purse in full view of everyone in the mall while you try on stuff or just rummage though the racks.

My interests are many and diverse. First and foremost I love the outdoors and all the activities that go with warm weather. I do cross country ski in the parks when it snows but have to tell ya, I'm no lover of the cold weather. My first love is to go riding, preferably with a partner either to someplace or to no-place. Makes no never-mind to me, as long as the wind is in my face I'm a happy camper.. I have travelled quite a bit, But I tell ya, its much more fun to have someone with you to share the experience rather than to do it alone. I kayak, ocean and freshwater, 10-speed bike, golf, actually just a hacker but it is relaxing. Basically not a couch potato, so even tho I may be considered an old dog, I am always open to learning and experiencing new things. I also am very fond of home life, relaxing on the patio, lazing in the hot tub gazing at the stars overhead with a nice glass of wine, good movies, occasionally doing some baking (usually during the holidays). I try to enjoy and equally embrace both worlds, indoors and outdoors, with equal gusto.

Guidelines that I try follow are #1, no long distance relationships. Operative word is Long. I've learned that a relationship is a fragile thing and that distance is like a bull in the china shop. Something is going to get broken and it is usually hearts. Number 2 is please, please have a picture posted or at the very least, if you decide to email me, please include a current picture. Lets face it, visual attraction is part of the chemistry between two people and ALL MALES ARE VISUAL CREATURES pure and simple. Everything else evolves from that. Its just a fact of life. You may create a prize winning profile. It could rival Gone With the Wind with its literary expertise and excellence. However, without a picture to immediately grab the mans eye it is going to be passed over. Oh yes, one last thing, I don't smoke. Many years ago in another life I did so I know what its like, the addiction and all. However, that being said, if you do, sorry, but no.

OK, all done. My fingers are tired so no more typing. Thanks for reading my novel, wish you all the best. And finally may you have a very joyful holiday season. Happy Holidays Dusty

First Date
Meet at a simple & public place that both parties agree upon. I say simple as this is a first meeting with all the stress that that entails. No sense complicating things by making a big deal for the first encounter. Making the first meeting/date comfortable for all involved is paramount in my humble opinion. Some guys like to make a big production out of it to impress, but I am a very simple individual. Therefore, the main course of the evening is simple conversation & something to drink. At a quiet place, without all the usual distractions of loud music, waiters, children, bells, whistles, etc., etc. Now you can concentrate on the most important thing, each other, to see if the chemistry/spark of attraction is there. In a nutshell, a very simple meet, conversation, and if it all clicks then you can always plan/do other things.
