About Me
I moved to Iowa from NY last summer for work after graduating from Stony Brook University with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. I'm still getting accustomed to the so-called suburbs here from the suburbs of Long Island where I grew up. So far I've liked it here, especially for the fact that there's no such thing as traffic and the whole atmosphere is pretty relaxing aside from work.
I typically go out on the weekends and hang out with friends whether its grilling some eats and hanging out at someone's house or hitting up Main Street bars. I like to go play hockey when there's open ice at Young Arena, sadly there is not enough hockey for me to be satisfied here. I'm a New York Islanders and New York Mets fan. Currently I'm working on finishing my 1960 Studebaker Lark that should be going to paint the first week of August. Its been a project of mine for the last 4 years on/off with school and other car projects. The other car I'm working on is a 1955 Studebaker President streetrod, which is more of a longer term project. I'm a Studebaker nut through and through. I grew up around them as my Dad restored several and we used to take them on cruises up and down the East Coast which were a lot of fun. I'm an all around car nut as well, but I like Studes and Mopars the most. I like playing the guitar and going to shows. My favorite bands consist of Evans Blue, Jimmy Eat World, and Dashboard Confessional but I try to listen to a bit from all genres. I like to travel, but I'd like to find a travel partner to see parts of the mid-west I haven't seen yet. Currently I rent a house in Evansdale but I'll be looking to buy a house in Cedar Falls or the nice part of Waterloo sometime early next year.
My personality? Hmm this is a bit of a tough one to describe. I typically like to make people laugh and I'm pretty quick witted. I'll make a joke when the opportunity presents itself, if you set it up I'll knock it down. I'm serious when I need to be. I typically won't bs anyone, but I can if I need to. I'm from NY so I have some New Yorker tendancies, I'll swear every now and then, give the finger when driving, etc. One thing I can't stand is a phony.
Basically the girl I'm looking for loves to have a good time. Someone that likes going out, being with friends, meeting new people, traveling, loves to laugh, has a great sense of humor, has ambitions, and just having a conversation. If you can't converse with someone than there's no point in pursuing anything else. I'd love to find a girl that shares some interests with me while also having some totally different ones that I might gain interest in.
So if any of this sounds like something your looking for too, shoot me a message.
