First, I find that there is an overabundance of those who don't understand the necessity of communication...some say they want a relationship...some say they want to have fun...some say that they want more out of life and someone really special with whom to share life's great moments....,but most don't understand that communication and some planning is necessary for things Great! Poor planning...always flying by the seat of your pants...always doing things last moment usually provides for tame and uninteresting experiences in life...or loads of unnecessary drama...and usually leaves you sitting alone on the sidelines of life...

With that said here's some information about me:

I've been told that I'm a great guy who's humble at times..with a down-to-earth personality and a very eclectic gathering of experiences.

I grew up in Corpus Christi, TX. I used to spend tons of time at the beach surfing and body surfing.

My 1st job out of high school was as a Green Beret (Special Forces, U.S. Army...Army's equivalent of a Navy Seal). No, I'm not John Rambo...lol, but my friends usually joke that if there's ever an alien invasion or nuclear war that they want to be with me because they say that I would be one of the few survivors (besides the roaches that is...ugh...hate those things!).

I've lived in Germany. Traveled throughout Europe. Traveled throughout Australia.

I spent 1 1/2 years backpacking across Africa.

I have an undergraduate degree with a double major in Physics and Mathematics. I just finished my MBA degree and I'm about to start work on a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineeering.

I've run 9 marathons and 1 half marathon. This is my 2nd season of competitive running. I have 28 races scheduled...20 marathons...6 half marathons...one 50 kilometer race...one 50 miler. So far, I have run 5 of this season's races. Race locations?...Xenia, Athens, Cleveland, Cincinnati, San Francisco, Chicago, Pike's Peak (Colorado), Dayton, Akron, Indianapolis, Columbus, Arlington, Washington D.C., West Palm Beach, Worthington, Houston, Miami, Tampa, Dublin, etc....You get the picture. I run an average of 70 to 90 miles per week and cycle around 100 miles per week (commuting to and from work).

One of my goals is to run 100 marathons in less than 4 years. If I can pull off a running publicity stunt (next year) then I will be able to do it in less than 2 years (you'll have to ask me about that one).

I'm starting a blog, a website, and a podcast to cover my running, race, and traveling experiences/adventures. I'm also working on a documentary to cover some of my adventures, too.

I plan on using my extreme running and other venues to get the attention of the Discovery Channel (or someone similar) so that I can create, host, and be in a reality based TV show which covers crazy and extreme distance running events/races.

Whenever I travel to a new country, state, or city I use Couchsurfing.com to find a great place to stay. Check it out. It's fantastic! I always find a great person with a comfy couch, an extra bed, or a futon who let's me crash at their place while at their location...and it's MUCH better than any hotel. I usually end up making a new friend...and it's free. Every experience has been great! Besides, life is an adventure so why not meet some interesting people along the way?

I have a great dog...Roxie. She's a Pug...and she's full of love and personality. She's my best friend!

I do a huge garden every year. This year, I have 30 tomato plants, lots of basil, and 11 various pepper plants (in the Bell pepper family).

I'm more organized than the average person, but I can be lazy at times.

I love going to the movies. One of my areas of specialization for my MBA degree was in the use of film in marketing.

What type of woman interests me? You should be mature and self supporting (meaning that you pay your own bills). You should have goals in life and an education...whether you are working toward a degree or trade...or have a talent that you utilize. You don't have to be an overachiever or a braniac, but you should be able to hold your own in intelligent conversation (and have opinions of your own). You also don't have to be an athlete, but you should be able to appreciate and respect my aspirations and goals....and try to understand them. You should also be willing to try new things and open to new experiences, but you should also know what you like and not be afraid to ask me for it.

Basically, I'm looking for someone who I can be supportive of and vice versa. You should also be affectionate. I'm a romantic at heart with the right woman and I do admit that I love bringing flowers to that special someone....or just doing something nice for the right woman and it being appreciated.

I like going out at times, but I enjoy being a homebody a lot, too. I like relaxing and watching a good movie at home or just hanging out...going to the coffee shop...or reading a book. It doesn't have to be the most elaborate thing...although I enjoy those things, too...it more about the company. Sometimes, just holding hands with someone special is a pleasure in itself.

You should also like animals...especially dogs...especially Pugs (since I have one special Pug).

Most important you should be able to communicate. This means that if we're trying to plan some interesting outing...and I call you then you'll get back with me (call back) within a reasonable period of time. What's reasonable? I know what's not reasonable...if you call the last minute or the day of the event that's not reasonable...I have a busy schedule and endeavors/goals that I am working toward. I'm not someone to wait 24/7 on someone (I don't have to do that). I feel that if you are interested in doing things and have the time to do them...then you will call and respond within a descent amount of time. There are extenuating circumstances...emergencies, etc...and I am completely understanding of these, but If I take the time to call You and don't hear back from you this says several things to me. It says that you aren't understanding of those things important in my life, it says that you potentially have poor communication skills (bad for any kind of relationship, etc.), and it says that our plans are low on the totem pole. I'm interested in someone who appreciates that I will reinvent my schedule in order to just spend time with that special someone...
Well, You think you know a lot about me now?? Nope. You've just scratched the surface. You could know me for years and still learn something new about me!

So much for not being verbose. Just trying to give you a clearer picture of me. If you've read all this then you seem to be interested...and you may be the mature lady I'm looking for right now.

What is my idea of a 1st date? Well, I think that first dates should be simple...not to blown out of proportions. Why, you might ask? The reason is that the focus of the first date is for you and I to meet, be able to get to know each other better, and to see if we have common interests and a spark between us (chemistry!). Anything to elaborate can distract from any of this and I would think/hope that your goal is to find out more about me, too. With this in mind, I like to meet in a local coffeehouse.

We would meet in a coffeehouse and enjoy some good coffee, conversation, and possibly some nice flirtations. If we turn out not suited for each other...not everyone is...I might remind you of your brother (although I doubt it!)...then this is an environment which affords you the opportunity to leave or stay. It's a comfortable, unassuming environment. Also, it's a public place and I'm looking for someone to share both my public and my private life. If you have a problem with meeting in public then I'm going to have a problem with sharing my private life with you. We could then go somewhere for dinner or lunch...depending on the time of day. Who knows where we might end up...could be the Art Museum...could be the Franklin Park Conservatory checking out the butterfly exhibit...or maybe enjoying a great beer at one of the local pubs.

If we hit it off then I can guarantee you great conversation and adventure. The conversation is very important to me. I'm looking for a lady with whom I can have a smart, witty, and intelligent conversations and fun. It's a good way to get to kow each other.

Of course, we have to be physically attracted to each other, but if you don't have much of a personality then we won't spend much time together. I understand anyone being nervous on a first date...so I'll take that in to account...my idea of an ideal 1st date is for you to be as comfortable as possible so that hopefully you dazzle me with your personality as well as your smile. An intelligent woman who knows what she wants and who enjoys the idea of real romance (time spent together sharing the small moments as well as important ones) is definitely an attraction for me.
