**recent news in my life
-Volunteering as a staff member for the Model UN conference we host on our campus over the next couple of days
-Visiting a friend in Chicago over end of the semester break
-Performing in the campus production of The Vagina Monologues in February. It will be my third year in a row doing it, and I hope it goes well!
-In the spring I will be doing volunteer work in appalachia through ASP
-I graduate (hopefully) this spring!
-Over the summer I hope to do some intense volunteer work in Haiti. Does anyone happen to know how to speak Creole? :/

Hey! Hey you! Yeah. I'm talking to you. Hi. It's nice to meet you... Well, since you're here reading this, I can only assume it is because you would like to get to know me a little better. I can help you with that.

I am very much a people person. My friends and family are the most important part of my life and I would do anything for them. I love to laugh and if you see me around I will most likely have a smile on my face. I talk with my hands. When I get nervous or excited I play with my hair or touch my face a lot. Usually I can be very quiet around people when I first meet them, and once I get comfortable I can talk for hours. I am very enthusiastic and get excited about things easily. I am an ENFP personality type according to the Myers-Briggs, if that means anything to you- basically it includes these personality traits along with a few others (Yes, I am a psychology major)

I also have a strong curiosity about the world. Call me a nerd, but growing up I favored magazines like Popular Science and Discover over Cosmo. If you have something new to teach me, I am happy to learn a little about it. My interests are widely varied from dancing, to drawing, good spelling and grammar, painting, photography, to travel, to music- including an attempt to teach myself to play the guitar, to volunteer work, to social justice, to nature... As a friend once put it, "Wow, you are into almost everything!" I can see how that is a good and a bad thing.

I like to cook, especially desserts. I can bake some of the best chocolate chip cookies you have ever had, but if you're in the mood for an apple pie or a cheesecake, I still got your back.
As far as music goes, I am very into rock and roll, but my music tastes are fairly eclectic. I also really like alternative, ska, big band and swing, jazz, blues, some pop (Brit Pop in particular), grunge, oldies, foreign music (gypsy punk, German industrial metal, middle eastern music) as long as it isn't most rap or country, I probably like it. My favorite bands at the moment are Led Zeppelin, Modest Mouse, and the Foo Fighters.

First dates... hmm. Something active, romantic, fun, and unique is cool. Going for a walk, amusement parks, bowling, laser tagging, I don't know. I'm pretty flexible about something like that.
