About Me
I am a full time (meaning sole custody) single dad living in Silicon Valley. I have two children (and won't be having any more thanks to the wonders of modern minor surgery) much younger than the kids of most guys my age. I suppose they keep me young but I do know that they keep me busy.
It would be nice to meet someone who can be comfortable in a family situation yet has a naughty streak and knows when to let it show. I am not looking for a 24x7 live-in relationship and want to keep things a bit light at this point. I have a nanny to watch the kids and while we do enjoy our fun together, I am available to get out and have some fun on my own too.
I am 5'11" tall, 160lbs, hazel eyes, have all my hair and it is getting kinda salt/pepper these days. Blue jeans and a cowboy hat will work for me but I clean up nice and look good in a suit too. My interests can be somewhat unconventional so you might see me at a symphony performance, rock concert, walking on a beach or in a forest or maybe even on the playa at Burning Man. My tastes are very broad in music, food, and literature and people.
Someone said I look different than my original picture so I just posted a new one taken in February 2008. The older one was from September 2007.
First Date
Oh, I don't know ... a first date would be to see if we each had that sort of twinkle in our eyes. It's the second date that would be the fun one. I can go for just about anything from a family outing to having a friend watch the kids while we head off someplace fun.
But please, ladies, the goal here is dating. I am not looking for a pen pal. Emails are fun but the purpose of being here shouldn't be to exchange email for weeks. Now if you live far away, that is something completely different. If if you live nearby and we exchange more than a few emails before meeting or never seem to be able to get together, then maybe it isn't meant to be. I get a lot of people who want to make that first date but having a lot of trouble finding people who keep them. Relationships via email/IM don't seem to work for me. Lets meet someplace public if you like and have a chat face to face.
How about a concert? Acid Mothers Temple at the Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on April 8th?

 | Ladies, I know this man in real non-internet life, for years. He's like a wonderful brother to me, kind, thoughtful, reliable, responsible, trustworthy... all those catchwords. He's a gem. Not one of those gems who sits around watching football, expecting you to make dinner. He's a gem with a wicked and slightly warped sense of humor! He's a gem who can both love family life *and* something a little wilder. He deserves someone unique, someone unusual and feisty yet goodhearted.
