Boots
sole bare holey wonders
trod within the world asunder
dry and creased tough laces torn
cobbler met and soles reborn
walking yet another mile
wearing but another smile
life inset fresh pavement met
down the road a glorious sunset
protection from the cold and stones
along the road of life I roam

if I could give but one present
I'd wrap the sun in all its glory
tissue paper would be of love
and ribbon round held by a dove

Yesterday a Memory

a movie played at glance
set inside the wheel of life
looking to the past
silken webs of lace
falling out of place
held fast with a source
a aptitude of grace
people, places, nature
pictures on a path
sand turning back in time
through a hourglass
the memories yet still roam
far and wide our home
bound upon this earth
they flow within its girth

Today a Reality

whether stark cold and grey
or granted with a radiant day
a daily dose of real time
in which we work and play
of endless lines, dogma grind
fighting back the cue
family love the perfect glove
brings songs sweet and true
then at times silence passes
you stand and brace to last
into your ears its all you hear
those subtle shades of fear
then to curl up softly
lie upon your bed
and think until the next day
for what will lie ahead

Tomorrow an Adventure

every day stands to chance
upon it look in sheer reverence
touch a blessing, covet the sky
grasp the sun, feast your eyes
chase the stars, dance with mirth
plant your feet, walk the earth
create within a rightful thirst
so let it be that place to seek
by perchance one day we meet

Thinking

movie on the tube
popcorn on the table
man at my side ready and able
so hard to cuddle
when the minds in a fuddle
instead of looking at you
his hands are roaming
what do you do
it’s a choice
play the nun
or have some fun
if it was that easy
no stigma in the breeze
then maybe I would be

tired of the same
