I am an easy-going, fun person to be around- at least that's how all friends tend to describe me. I am just as comfortable drinking cold beer and peeling shrimp as I am dining with white linens and a bottle of wine.I love a new pair of Lucky jeans and a white tank top. Flip flops are a wardrobe staple year round. I also appreciate a hot new pair of red high heels that are certain to make my feet hurt when I go dancing.

I grew up in five states and I have traveled quite a bit, although there are many places that I still want to visit. My favorite big cities are New York and Seattle. I recently completed graduate school at Appalachian State University
(Go Mountaineers!!) and bought my first home. I am proud of my accomplishments but it's not quite as exciting when you don't have a special guy to share the "good stuff" with.

I like to surround myself with close friends spending time at the lake, local hang outs, Nascar events, concerts on the lawn, or taking weekend beach trips. I am most at peace sitting on the beach at sunset comtemplating life and drinking something cold!
Family is certainly most important to me and I talk with my parents every day. My parents and sister are the most important people in my life and they often wonder why I'm still single. I wonder about it too, but I don't have the answer to this big question. I have a big heart and I tend to overlook people's faults and make excuses for men who have not treated me nicely- you know those guys.. the ones who just don't play fairly. It's not right to decide to hate all men because I have had some in my life who didn't work out-well actually I suppose NONE of them have worked out! There are great men out there- hard to find- but I want to believe they're out there...

I have a sense of hesitation when it comes to dating. I love going out and meeting new people, but I carry some pessemism in my heart these days- you know just been hurt so many times now. However, I don't stay upset when my heart is broken or I break someone else's heart, but perhaps that's because I have lost a lot of hope when it comes to making a relationship work and feel great for BOTH people.

Professionally, I have devoted 13 years to teaching young children. I am very happy with my chosen career path and enjoy teaching Kindergarteners how to read. It is not a job for the weak. I certainly have a lot of patience and a great sense of humor- it's a must when you are devoted to the well-being and success of 20 five year olds each and every day. I generally need a quick nap each afternoon because I am mentally and physically exhausted after a day of work.

I believe first dates are most enjoyable when they are not as formal. I would enjoy a simple dinner at a lakeside restaurant overlooking the water. With any luck there would be plenty of good conversation, laughs, and smiles.
