I've dated women from most backgrounds including african-american, white, asian, hispanic, and the like when I was very young to current. Prefer to date women with a broader cultural orientation. I'm african american and polynesian. And like to learn about culture, religion, and travel. Most recently have begun studying the conceptual aspect of religion like agnosticism. And classic paganism from a historical pretext. Anything that may be different is interesting to learn about. Older younger thing is okay as long as we can be real without carrying on as if we are interested in something other than what we are engaged in.

I like a lot of different music. Classic rock like alcatrazz. Guitar is something I like because its used in so many types of music. Big foot is one like. Sting, AC/DC, the Who. The classics. I'm not into rap other than the alternative style like Pharcyde and a canadian group Dragon Fli Empire. Old school R & B like Roberta Flack, Debarge, Michael McDonald, Patti Laballe, and Teddy Pendergrass. Zhane Hey Mr. DJ. Old school. I also like some techno, Indie, and World music.

Enjoy most anything as long as we can laugh and not necessarily at other peoples expense. Arts, musuems, plays, are fine. Festivals, and going to the park are also good. Amusement parks, and outdoors camping. Kayak, canoeing, and other water sports. Formal stuff is okay but I prefer casual like khakis and polo unless its something that you have to be less casual at. I'll wear jeans and slacks with a polo which I can also be comfortable in.

I can adjust to most atmospheres, but in the most recent years don't really go to to many places that are not compatible with how I am. I like to have a good time. I'm a vegetarian. No meat or fish. But I don't really care if a date is not. I don't try to persuade a date to not eat meat. But I would also like her to be understanding that if we go out to dinner that I'd like a place that can prepare a vegetarian meal too. I like a Ben and Jerry's. And anything similar for that matter.

Interested in women that have their own career goals and interests. And am okay with being supportive of her goals. Enjoying travel, and learning new things are good. Political ideology is something that isn't as important to me at the onset of a relationship although I'd like to learn more about her views in time. And is something I'd explore more after dating. If we are dating then there are qualities that are mutually interesting though I enjoy being friends before dating. Tend to get on well with women that may be different from the norm whether it be quirky style and interests or the versatility of her interests. I'd be inclined to being in a partnership with a woman that is willing to invest in a relationship where there are mutual interests, goals, and hobbies. To include family and children.

Tend not to subscribe though to the traditional notion of partnerships. Marriage for one I really believe is antiquated. The institution has an economic basis that revolved around concepts and ideas about men and women that are less relevant. I believe the divorce rates indicate this although it is generally attributed to other factors. So you can say I seek a relationship from a less economic standpoint and more based on the person.

What I do subscribe to are relationships that are more modern in thought and idea. That considers the twenty first century rather than one that had not. I do like the idea of relationships that benefit the goals of each partner. I don't try to across like I'm compatible with every woman. And I certainly don't expect to. I do like to think that one of the main reasons people do dating online is to learn more about compatibility where offline has its limits. Often you hang out with someone several times before having any idea about where the person is coming from.

A first date to me is more like a meet to learn more about what we want to do. It should be something fun that allows for feedback. If we can have fun then I'll most likely be with it. Platonic friendship is something I'm interested in at the moment. I think that friends can go on dates without it being something that only couples in exclusive relationships do. The idea for me at least is to have fun. What ever happened to the idea of guys and women going out to have fun without thinking to hard about it? By the way, what happened to all the dateable women interested in guys to hang out with?
