short version: i still practice law (mea culpa) but it's for people, not institutions. but what i really do is write. my first novel, keep and bear arms/amazon has been well received and i am submitting a pre-quel that is set in the 60s, a period i loved and would like to remember with a woman who loves classic rock and the creativity that flourished then. i'm skeptical about the justice system. i'm serious about photography and am developing a photo show. been to 35 countries, want to see more of the tetons and small places with real americans who can make barbecue and fried chicken. i love big cities for short times. go to chicago often and stay a few days. i live in champaign which is 2 hours from chicago, indy, and st. louis.

obviously coffee is the lubricant for conversation. i love kenya aa, but have never had even a cup of the fancy fluid$ from starbuck's, with froth and foreign names. another great date would be dinner at an ethnic place, or the best bbq joint on the edge of town. and a movie. all movies are better than no movies, but i'm interested in thought-provoking, funny, and beautiful. my tastes run from field of dreams to no country for old men. i just finished a film noir series of classes. laura is a wonderful old flick. we could go to a jazz joint. i used to be a jazz d.j.
