About Me
I am 44, I have natural blonde waist length hair (although it is getting a bit darker lately, oh well, that can be fixed), big stormy blue eyes; they turn lighter in the sun, will reflect green, and long lashes. I am 5' 3 1/2". I have a grown son and two grandsons. My grandparents, parents, aunts, and uncles spirits have gone on to rest; or to other adventures! I am serious about health and nutrition. I like gardening, reading, cooking, computers, movies, animals (I have a feline that I have trained as you would a dog, he knows a lot of commands; I have four others that don’t mind so well, and three snakes: Boas). Also like: science fiction, fantasy, nature, convenience, comfort (safety/security etc.), learning, and decorating (not necessarily in that order). I walk into an auto parts store, a building supply store, or a hardware store and say "Toys!!" like a kid in a....well...toy store, lol; as well as the typical furniture store and gardening center; pet supply store....etc. always looking for a way to improve the world around me. It is very interesting and fun to see what other people have come up with, and I greatly admire and respect the imagination, ingenuity, hard work, determination...etc. that went into these things. I am always building and decorating my dream home (really did dream about it!) in my head. I don't play games, of any kind. I find party games mind numbing, and mind games are degrading. Not a game player, it's not constructive or educational enough for me.

I: rarely drink alcohol (only a couple times a month, if that); have no problem going months, or years without drinking alcohol, just rarely think about it, not a deal. I only like some white wines, a couple beers, and few mixed drinks, maybe you will introduce me to a wider variety and I won't be so limited. I Don't do drugs, only a couple prescriptions. Hate sports, motorcycles, hunters, abusers and war. Would love to travel. Need/want to learn many things. I can find humour in just about anything, but you don't joke about life’s serious subjects. You need to have a well-developed sense of humour as well. (isn't it funny how everyone thinks they have a sense of humour??) I can be a smart (aleck), more facetious than sarcastic, my son is too, big time (I wonder where he got it??). I love dry humor. I am very versatile; a little like both Dharma and Greg; and both their parents. I can identify with all of their beliefs and attitudes and see myself. A bohemian WASP, ha.

Favorites: (A)Books, (B)Movies, (C)Music, (D)Food.

(A) "The Lord of the Rings", The Harry Potter series 1-7, Drawing Down the Moon, Ann McCaffery "The Dragonriders of Pern" series, Piers Anthony, Johanna Lindsay's Warrior Woman trilogy, 'Show me God' by Fred Heeren. 'Fossilized Customs' by Lew White, and Kevin Trudeau's 'Natural Cures they don't want you to know about. and Lillian Jackson Brauns 'Cat Who' detective series. (B) Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Action/Adventure, comedy, and Alan Rickman movies. Current favorites: Sweeney Todd, The Holiday, Rent. (C) Classical, Rock, easy listening, and dance. Hate: Country and Rap. Despise Barbershop. Dislike: Blues, Jazz, Soul (if you like these this is a deal breaker, no deal). Well... I am a very patient and understanding person, I do make allowances (too many) (D) Natural/organic Food, all kinds, love shellfish and cayenne. Do not eat: Junk Food (processed included) except corndogs and pizza, lol. Foods I hate: Coconut, eggs, caraway seeds, fish, fake cherry and banana flavoring, beans, hamburger, liver, and cinnamon. (my taste buds react badly to them)

Who I'd Like to Meet:

Besides a few celebrities; I would love to find a SWM between the ages 38-62 that is intelligent, educated and well dressed like Frasier and Niles Crane but not so frazzled; like Rupert Giles from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' but more sure of himself, his knowledge, and his abilities; very clean with an awesome memory and pays attention to all the little details like Monk (USA Network) but not so afraid of the world, and without the non-sense phobias (the sensible ones are ok); composed and in control like Warf from 'Star Trek' but not so angry and uncompromising; like T’ealc from SG-1 but more friendly and funny; passionate like Antonio Bendaras in most of his movies; adorable, open minded, loves and respects animals and nature like Steve Erwin; handsome, friendly, curious, intelligent and honorable like Sinclair Bryant from the movie 'Close My Eyes' but more sensitive to my needs and wouldn't accept such behavior as.....well you have to see the movie. I passed a preliminary MENSA test when I was 15. I really like smart men- (can't find any though), (talk technical to me and I will melt)- but wouldn't want someone who would be cruel to those who aren't, or haven't had the chances that they have had....but then again....library books are free...hmmm. I have been around (lived with, worked with, befriended) the handicapped, disabled (physically, mentally and emotionally), elderly, and children my entire life. I was single for seven years while doing this and........:) decided that now it’s time for me. I have been looking for ‘my guy’ for almost three yrs (or has it been four?). It would be great to find a man that can see well, hear well, have all his own healthy teeth, speak clearly, be physically and mentally healthy, read well, know and use proper grammar, have a good memory (remembering things correctly would be a bonus), isn't lazy, know how to operate electronics and appliances, be clean, clean cut - sharp dressed and down to earth, a realist, environmentally conscious, respectful, responsible (taking responsibility for his own actions would be a coup), have a conscience; Fully possess: morals/ethics/scruples/integrity/principles and not change them to win an argument; or when the situation/the people involved changes. Won't jump to the worst possible conclusion and blow it all out of proportion, then stew about it until it becomes a nuclear bomb. Knows that misunderstandings occur, and there are always many ways to see things. Someone that gets all the facts before making a decision or judgment. Be a reasonable-rational-mature-intelligent adult.

Now... (speaking from my dating days):
It would also be somewhat nice to find a man who doesn’t think with his little head, and treats a woman with respect and consideration in public regardless of how she behaves behind closed doors, or in private. Couples should never air personal problems for public entertainment or scrutiny either.
Maybe I am asking too much.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here:

(If you are not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to hide) Let's not confuse personal and private with a secret or embarrassing, "Embarrassment is a wasted emotion, a mind game you play with yourself, I am not into self destruction" We are human, and things happen all the tim

First Date
Get to know you better. See how you react in social situations (even if it is just the two of us). And we would laugh.

Trying to quit smoking, doing good, it's hard!

As I have stated; I have cared for children, the elderly, handicapped and disabled my entire life. I use the endearments: Hun, sweety, babe, darling etc. often when speaking...to everyone. Mostly young people and service persons as part of everyday language, i.e. "Oh hey sweety, can I have more napkins?", "Ok hun, I've got that, thank you", "Here we are babe, $10.46", "Sweety, can you hold this for me?", "Oh you poor darling (or baby), are you all right?" If these terms bother you in any way i.e.: You get jealous, feel I am flirting in front of you, feel I am moving too fast, are uncomfortable with the familiarity...then we shouldn't date. It's how I talk, and it's cute.
If it's a very big problem for you, perhaps you could discuss your aversion with a mental health professional.
Oh, and I swear on all that you hold holy; If you are a Mr. Froggy Jump, Jump to the worst possible conclusion and blow it out of proportion, then apply it to me! I will go all medieval on your hiney. Be open minded, curious, non-judgmental; and we will have a lot of fun, clean fun... get your mind out of the gutter. (you dirty old man)
