My ultimate preference is to be in a committed relationship with someone. Of course, not just anybody... I want her to naturally be honest, wise, FUN! witty, adventurous, outgoing, friendly, intelligent, creative, thoughtful, patient, gorgeous, and cool! And to that list you could add a thousand other adjectives. At the other end, some of the things I DO NOT want are somebody who's stupid with money, a fool, somebody who's cranky too frequently, somebody who is not grateful for the kind things I do for them. This is basic common-sense stuff and the sobering fact of the matter is, MOST of us have been with someone who turns-out to sour into the bad and not the positive, have we not? Probably nothing we might have done; it was just they were destined to crash into a wall.

So all of us need to recognize there are a lot of wrecks out there still waiting to happen and casualty-avoidance has its merits! So as a matter of principle, even if we: "CLICK!!" -- we're still not going to be having any sex too early in the relationship and while I may or may not be the horniest guy on the planet, it's JUST NOT SMART to hop in bed with somebody EVEN IF YOU THINK IT'S THE PERFECT RELATIONSHIP -- shortly after meeting someone. I mean, IF you're serious about finding somebody long-term.

Hey, anybody up for just seeing if we can make it as friends first?

Couldn't care less what we do on a first date because all we're doing is seeing the other person to determine if they're actually like their online persona and/or whether they're interesting. I would add that a guy ends-up paying for a lot of first dates that don't go anywhere and I don't think it's fair; so, I think the first date should be dutch. That could change if things become interesting but sometimes (and you know this is true) we meet people who are 20 lbs. heavier than their pictures, and/or, it just isn't quite what we thought.

And while I know it's preferable to have the man: "take charge" and decide what to do, while I can do that, you also need to understand I'm new to Nashville. So feel free to suggest alternatives since my experiences here are limited.
