After sailing out of rough waters, I finally have the second half of my life together and I am hoping there's someone out there to share it with.

I thought I knew before, but I am now incredibly aware of how important a relationship is, and more importantly I understand how they work and what I want ... You'd be amazed how few people truly understand what they want out of a relationship...

I am a freelance writer (baseball mostly), and a radio talk show host (more general interest than political)and work for a minor league baseball team ... I have two amazing kids who live with their Mom (girl 14 and boy 10), relationships are good all around ...

I love to laugh (pretty trite for a writer huh? ... I prefer "classic"), and I seek adventure, even if that "adventure" is little more than a long Jeep ride through some back roads I haven't traveled before, or trying a new restaurant ...

I value down time, especially with the right girl (good quality alone time with her, just chilling), but I also like the stimulation of new things to see and do.

I am adaptable, and I love trying new things. What I want is someone who likes spending time with me and who understands that a relationship and home should be safe harbor from the rest of the battles we face every day, a place to recharge, a person who always has a kind smile and will always be a wingman ...

The payoff for me .. for all we put up with during the day ..will be her smile when I walk in the room, time spent catching up with each other about the day, and warm spooning at the end of the day.

Yes there are responsibilities, things that need to done, battles than need to be fought ... but there are always a couple of hours in the day when we can lay down the swords and have a smile and a laugh together ...

I am romantic, affectionate, I love to pamper the person I am in a relationship with, and will lay down anything I have for them ... Unwaveringly loyal .. and I actually love to give more than I get ... I am a hand-holder, and door-holder. I'm the type of guy who will sit on the same side of the booth with you if you let me! I am the type who will only semi-discreetly rest my hand on the small of your back when we stand together or I pass by you at the stove ... and I will almost always steal a soft miss on your shoulder. I think bumping and laughing in the kitchen while cooking or washing dishes can be heaven with the right person. And I don't believe there's a "honeymoon" phase. I believe you can be smitten with someone for a lifetime.

I love eating out ... day trips ... car rides ... minor league baseball, Red Sox, and Pats (but I am not obsessive about it) ... I absolutely love kids ... camping, kayaking, x-country skiing, fishing, hiking, fire pits and beers and laughs with friends ... Jeeps .. dogs .. any animals actually ... movies ... cooking ... antiquing ... I love helping a girl with her garden ...and when things are right in a relationship I can even love folding the laundry ... it's all about being with the right person ... when you are ... EVERYTHING works ...

(They tell me to talk about musical tastes ... well I like straight rock, and new country if you need categories, but my mp3 player is all over the place: Tom Petty, AC/DC, Martina McBride, Green Day, Sugarland, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Peter Gabriel, and Fleetwood Mac ... but it also has Sinatra and Dean Martin, Bocchelli, Miley Cyrus (14 year old girl remember), Little Big Town, Big and Rich, Wil Hoge (points if you know him!), James Browne, Aretha, Motown, Blues, a copy of the audio books The Secret and A Short History of Everything ... and (he says sheepishly...) ABBA ... if you can tell anything about me from that ... great! ...)

For me, a good dinner at a nice cozy restaurant with a couple of drinks and a chance to get to know each other ... I love an interesting restaurant with a menu that takes chances, and a nice chat ... That is always a good beginning ... But I know it's often more comfortable to have a coffee or a drink and keep it short. (I don't know how you girls do it ... I risk a bad dinner partner, you risk your safety! But not with me ... I may or may not create some sparks for you, but I'm a good guy.)
