About Me
Hey so I'm Steve and I was born and raised in Montreal. Just to start off I'd like to clear things up as that is not my son in the pictures! I get messages asking me if he's mine, and while hes cute and all, I can't take the credit :P

I just started writing two days ago, first time ever (other than for HS) so keep that in mind. I figured I'd just post them as I write them. Provide any feedback you'd like.

Also, I am not available for dating and such, just looking for friends and to chat with, have some deep conversations and such. Hope to hear from you soon!

The Eternal Struggle

To find oneself when lost at sea,
Is not as easy as one might think it to be,
Finding a mirror will reflect an image,
Finding one's self might require a look at their lineage

Their family and ancestors are what truly rub off,
Onto a canvass of who they will eventually be,
For no matter how hard we attempt to castoff,
Into our own world, we are unable to flea.

The habits exist inside of us - both the good and the bad,
The white canvass we dreamt of - we never had,
For the painting began from the moment we reached the age,
Grew up and started to realize that we were living inside a cage.

Unable to escape, unable to getaway,
We began our lives for we had no choice but to stay,
At ages so delicate we were sculpted and molded,
Into who we feared the most, for we had been branded.

We adopted their tendencies - not just their features,
We became a breed of them, their ugly little creatures.
For we became them, no matter our struggles,
Until the age where we made a choice - despite our troubles.

To change we must first acknowledge ourselves and look at our soiled canvass,
For without doing so would be like navigating a sea without ones compass.
To see what we must change in order to erase and create a new beginning,
Requires strength and courage despite the fact that it will cause immense aching.

Of the heart, of the soul, of the body, and of the mind,
The pain will resurface from years past until you find,
Resolution of your past fears, your worst nightmares put to rest,
A new canvass revealed, the past addressed.

A new canvass ready for you, a new beginning, a new test,
For your parents painting is gone, so make sure it's your best,
For your children will one day see it, whether you like it or not,
Don't make the same mistake yours once did, one chance is all you got.

Addictive Temptation

When you begin to feel the itch,
Your car begins to swerve towards the ditch,
Your life begins to spiral out of control,
Your addiction begings to take it's toll.

On your mind that you've attempted to set free,
From the addiction that has manifested into a full grown tree.
It's roots surrounding you, choking any progress that you make,
Never releasing you from it's grasps, giving only one path to take.

Back into the addiction that feeds your happiness for only a second,
Making you feel on top of the world, the belt around your arm strongly fastened.
As you inject yourself with the substance of your addiction,
You know damn well that you are merely adding to your sad sad affliction.

So you are faced with the never ending struggle,
Give into temptation and add to your list of troubles,
Or you flex, even bend but refuse to break,
The temptation causing your whole body to shake.

So you surround yourself with positive things - welcomed distractions,
You attempt to weather the storm, and begin to take action.
Replacing the temptation with positive thinking,
As your temptation departs, continues sinking.

Gone for the moment, for the storm has passed,
Use this time wisely, tools you must amass.
To be ready for the next one that will undoubtedly come,
The tools you gather will help you refuse to succumb,

To the addiction that is within you, only hard work will make it go away,
It's not just in your actions or what you might say.
It's the time that you put in to it, to resolve your inner pain,
Past issues that overwhelm you and ones you have trouble to explain.

So you seek help to get through them, whatever the means,
Be honest with yourself and as hard as it might seem.
Or give into temptation and never break free,
Ride the wave known as addiction, and it's turbulent sea.

The Final Blow?

A shot to the heart,
A shot to the gut,
When your loved one departs,
And you've been freed from your rut.

Unable to speak,
Your mind races around.
So you begin to weep,
Your lips incapable of sound.

Taken over by tears and eventual sobs,
Unable to hold it together - even at your job.
For you are a mess, yet your tears prevent your screaming,
Your tongue tied in knots, as your heart continues bleeding.

You have no choice, the pain is terrible,
To make it all stop, your one choice is unbearable.
There must be another way, to get through all the pain,
To wash it all away, like a shower in the rain.

Cleansed and reborn like a plant after a spring shower,
You must look not up but within to find true power,
To change and to rise is what you must do,
After that you must admit, you haven't a clue.

But you understand what you've been given, without the need for a glance,
Your reborn existence and perseverence - is your second chance.
To not look blindly forward and disregard your underlying issues,
You'll face them head on, please ready the tissues.

For it's not easy to uncover what you've spent your whole life smothering,
Until you realize that your happiness is what you've actually been covering.
Denying yourself the chance to come to terms with your past,
The tools that you've developed, and began to amass.

Your second chance is within you,
Nothing has been lost.
Your true colors need to stay true,
no matter the cost.

If you want it you must be true to what you desire,
You must first look into the mirror and learn to admire.
Yourself, your body, your mind and your fire,
Only the last, can never be allowed to tire.

For the fire is in you and must continue to burn,
With that fire will come happiness and what you ultimately yearn.
Keep your heart open and vulnerable to not just you,
For love is something better shared, so make sure to make room for two.

First Date
All Nighters

When time is lost because you weep,
Work then takes priority over your sleep,
All nighters then become the norm,
No longer will you sleep in her dorm.

She is gone for now, the distance required,
You must push through work, cannot risk being fired.
School must again take priority in your life,
Even if you have taken a step back from finding your wife.

The time will come when you know who is right for you,
Till then you can only make sure your values stay true.
Too young to be thinking of who will be yours forever,
When you should be enjoying each day despite the weather.

For some days will shine bright and carry you through,
Others days will cloud over and rain just on you.
The present is foggy and nothing is clear,
Take your time and relax it hasn't even been a year.

Too early for your thoughts,
Premature are your expectations.
Too anxiously you sought,
And gave into temptation.

You know better than this,
You've been here before.
It starts with a kiss,
And ends with a closed door.

So take your time to think,
Organize your life.
Don't give in to drink,
Or what will lead to a strife.

Nothing is lost,
Unless you choose not to be found.
At whatever cost,
Keep your two feet on the ground.

For the future will hold,
Second chances for those that earn them.
Or you can give up and fold,
And throw your life into a state of mayhem.

The latter I'll pass on,
The former I'll work on.
I won't give into weakness,
I shall prove my worthiness.

What you do to me

Your lack of logic infuriates me,
Your free will intrigues me.
Your selfishness disgusts me,
Your independence infatuates me.

You frustrate me,
You challenge me.
You sadden me,
You rebuild me.

Your reasons disturb me,
Your explanations comfort me.
Your actions distance me,
Your logic embraces me.

You release me,
You welcome me.
You trap me,
You rescue me.

Your age has me question you,
Your wisdom has me believe in you.
Your stubbornness I bring out of you,
Your perseverance I see in you.

You question me,
You believe me.
You ambush me,
You guide me.

Your inexperience has me pity you,
Your worldliness has me envy you.
Your venom has me fear you,
Your warmth has me long for you.
