About Me
Where do I begin? By day, I work in a warehouse as the general on-site computer geek and the guy who covers any odd jobs that nobody else is there to cover. By night, I sit surrounded by computers running an online publishing company. The publishing work is very important to me, and has grown to include working and promoting live events.

I enjoy seeing local bands play, and try to go to shows as often as possible. I also work with some local musicians, helping them record demos.

I am NOT into sports. I follow the headlines for the local teams so I can be conversationable with average male co-workers, but football, baseball, basketball, etc, bore me.

I do enjoy the occasional walk in the woods or trip to the country. However, with my night-job listed above, I find it difficult to be away from technology for long periods of time. (Does this camping tent come with WiFi access? lol) I used to go roller-blading quite a bit, but I haven't had anyone to go blading with me in years and I haven't had the time to go by myself. I also like row-boating and canoing when sharing the boat with a pleasant companion.

I read a lot. Mostly thrillers and mysteries, some horror and fantasy for good measure, and a number of comic book series. (The last vestige of the short-story writer: the graphic novel.)

Religion is a touchy subject. The short version is that I believe a person should believe what makes sense to them, be it any one religion, be it bits and pieces of many religions, or be it no religion at all. In the end, all religions teach you to be good to one another. That is the message, that is what matters, the specifics of how you reach that are unimportant. If you believe that I have to believe the same specific details as you to be a good person, then I don't want to know you.

Okay, if that didn't scare you away... What am I looking for?

I am seeking someone who shares some of my interests and will enjoy things I enjoy, who is willing to be introduced to new things, and who can introduce me to new things. Someone who enjoys going to poetry open-mics and art galleries is a huge plus.

The "I Am Looking for" options up there are limited. I am not looking for a hook-up or a one-nighter, I'm looking for a lasting "Long-term" relationship. However, one should start things off by "Dating," and see where it goes from there. If there's no romantic connection, making new "Friends" and gaining a new "Activity Partner" to "Hang Out" with is always a good thing.

Other stuff: My family and friends are very important to me. I'm good with kids, but I don't want kids of my own anytime in the near future. I do NOT smoke, and I cannot be with a smoker. My pic... The beard comes and goes, but I usually aim for the mustache and a perpetual 5-o'clock shadow.

I have pets: Oswald and Edward are degus. (A degu looks like a gerbil, only larger, closer to a rat's size.) Tabitha is a jealous and possessive cat, but her affection can usually be bought with some 2% milk.

First Date
A first date, and for all intents and purposes a blind date, needs to be somewhere open and public, yet quiet enough to talk and get to know one another. Dinner and a show work okay, dinner and an event work better. Concerts are fun, and shows in bars work better because as long as you can get a table far enough from the stage you can still talk while enjoying the music. Outdoor festivals work best, because you can keep communicating and can observe each other's reactions to many different things. Staying in public places is important on a first/blind date. Save the trip to the drive-in movies for a later date.
