I deeply appreciate the love of friends, bicycling, the morning and evening sun, the Lake, a fragrant morning café au lait, live theatre, live music, and laughter, but want to share them with someone really close.

Enjoy books, theatre, stories, playreading, films, museums, and live music (especially jazz, latin, much of world music, and unpompous rock and folk music). Never as happy as I am pedaling; topped a thousand miles on my bicycles for the first time this year.

Lead book groups and other discussion groups. Cook for 20-25 friends every Christmas. Live as an atheist but not anti-religious in the least. Experience service as its own reward.

Learned improv in the 80's and puppetry in the 90's. Do sound and occasionally perform at a coffeehouse at the Ethical Humanist Society of Chicago in Skokie. Engineered a recently released live CD from one of those performances.

Worship my farmer's market and work every day to minimize my footprint. Eschew political complaining but work every election cycle. Ecstatic about the last national one (2008). Abhor elective wars.

Latest fiction read: The Inheritance of Loss_ and Barth's _The Development_. Latest theater: Timeline's "All My Sons" and Piccolo's "Black Comedy". Latest non-fiction: Nora Ephron's _I Feel Bad About My Neck_ (I think she is our Mark Twain). Last movie: "500 Days of Summer". Have interviewed or been interviewed by two of my heroes.

WBEZ listener, especially ATC, "This American Life", "Radio M", "Fresh Air", "Resound". Enjoy "The Daily Show" (except when they pick on regular people) and "30 Rock" and "Community". Guilty pleasure: "The Soup". Listen to the Minnesota Public Radio's "The Current" and Classical channels (yes, I subscribe). Love live jazz and world music.

Bowls of noodles or coffee and conversation, or a play or movie and then some time and space to acquaint. A walk would be nice.
