What I've been up to and my immediate plans :

I just turned 39 and plan on finishing my *first novel* by the time I'm forty. It's called "Daydreamer" .

Lately I've been doing *photography* to pay the bills. I was a wedding photographer a decade ago and now I'm beginning to remember why I quit-- b o r i n g ! It's not that challenging photographically and more about people skills and management, but it has a certain intensity--can you imagine: "I, uh, screwed up your wedding photos because I had the flash set wrong . . . But I'll get it right next time!"

I've been working on some no flash / low flash photography. At raves. (!) I mean "psytrance gatherings" due to legal issues. (?) 39, and I went to my first rave a year and a half ago. Actually, they're a lot of fun and everybody has a good time. There are some great photographic opportunities with all the colored-lights and what-not.

If I had *More Space* I'd call it *daylitdawn* . They sure know how to sap all the color from a photo, but you'll get a hint. These are still pretty rough experiments, but I now have better equipment and motivation to get better results.

That place has blogs too. Imagine . . .

I attended UT Austin and majored in Film Production . Basically, I only have my language requirements left. Guess this can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your point of view. Somehow my Mom has both. (Don't worry, I haven't lived my parents since I was 18. ( 8 D) )

( 8 D) = bald dude with glasses, laughing.

I'm a talented cinematographer and editor. Every plot-chance I get, I make a choice that would make "Daydreamer" into a better movie .

I've gotten quite good at Photoshop. I like my photos to look great, but not tinkered with--no heavy, obvious filters for me. I've also gotten decent at collages which are a lot of fun.

39, and I still feel so young!

I'm *intelligent* and *funny* and *I love to laugh* . And to think about all the beauty in the world. Some of which, oddly, seems like you can only learn through some suffering. I enjoy people enormously. My *friends* mean a great deal to me and I plan on keeping them in my life even if I do get seriously involved with someone.

I'm a *writer* , *photographer* and *photoshopper* . (duh.)

I'm on a *pool* team (I suck. I mean, I'm just a beginner who's been playing for a year.)

I enjoy *chess* . I used to play in tournaments and lose to really obnoxious 9-yr-olds. (Cheating punks!)

I can never get enough of *art*. I love *museums*.

Haven't been *traveling* much lately, but I've been to many, many countries.

I like the *PowerPuff Girls* , *Plato* , *people-watching* and *poetry* -- *and everything in between* .
