The person I'd "like to meet"? Tall, dark and handsome... about 35... SMACK! oops, I got older somewhere along the way, and my own kid is almost 30! What am I thinking?? Oh well, sigh... I guess the man I want to meet should be what we used to think of as old (52-59?). Okay, that's out on the table. It's all relative anyway - we'll never be younger than we are today, for the rest of our lives. So the dark hair can be a bit grayish, or it could be "used ta be" and that's just fine. None of us is perfect, each of us has responsibilities, and we're all pretty well set in our ways. SO, I guess that means those ways should include curiosity, intelligence, and enthusiasm; kindness and patience though I don't mind being prodded a little sometimes; enjoyment of good discussion about LOTS of topics (it's amazing how far a little respect can go even when two people have completely opposite opinions); honesty and a realistic outlook on life; enjoyment of: lots of outdoor things, working together on projects, music including (ta-da) classical, blues, bluegrass, along with the expected rock. No rap allowed. Be an animal person, as I have a dog, always have, and always will. Also be a people person - not necessarily overly social, just nice to people. Muscles and practical know-how and common sense and humor are great too, but now I think I'm getting to the "wish" list more than the "need" list.
In return I will do my best to be honest, fun, and hold my own in a relationship. I'm afraid I don't take to heels too kindly because my feet don't fit them (I think I look like Daisy Duck) but I promise that when we're in public I'll make sure the colors on my sweater and jeans match.
I do have two kids still at home (17-high school and 19-college), and am now trying to establish some kind of career after being primarily a homemaker (I have a college degree but it's a teeny bit old), so I will have to put a fair amount of time and energy into those priorities; but I am optimistic and look forward to one day having a partner to enjoy the good times with and to support (each other) during the hard times.
