I am an intelligent and talented woman who grew up in China, lived in New York for 10 years, traveled to a dozen of countries, and is brand new to southern California.

I had a dream when I was 11 years old. I wanted to be a successful business woman who travels around the world. I studied and worked hard all my life, went through up and downs, but I never gave up. So here I am, smart, confident, well-traveled, having a great career that I love, and proud of what I have accomplished.

I have broad interests in life. I love to travel; nothing excites me more than seeing a new country and new culture. I am a good singer, a salsa/samba dancer. And I like biking, volleyball and other outdoor activities. I love art, music and lectures, so I loved Metropolitan Museum, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

What kind of man do I like? I like a man who is smart and driven, who is optimistic and energetic, who is curious and cultured, who is wise and kind; someone who has principles and integrity; someone who appreciates me and whom I admire.

In China, there is a Google equivalent search engine named “Baidu”. The name came from a poem written in the Song Dynasty, a little over 800 years ago. The poem compares the search for a retreating beauty amid chaotic glamour with the search for one's dream while confronted by life's many obstacles. The pertinent part of the poem is “…hundreds and thousands of times, for her (him) I searched in chaos, suddenly, I turned by chance, to where the lights were waning, and there she (he) stood”. Baidu, whose literal meaning is hundreds of times, represents persistent search for the ideal.

That is what I believe, one day I turn by chance, and there YOU are.

If you are the right person, then it really does not matter where we are, and what we do. We could sit in a Starbucks for the whole time, but if you are smart and make me laugh, it will be a very pleasant date.

However, if you let me do the planning (please don’t let me plan the date, you may regret it), here is how it will go. We will meet in front of the Metropolitan Museum in a sunny Spring afternoon; we will see a Vincent Van Gough exhibition. Then we will walk through the Central Park, to catch the sunset on the ocean by the Huntington Beach. After the sun is set, we will walk to an old Spanish restaurant by the beach, we will have seafood paella, a glass of sangria, and we will talk (finally), with Gypsy King in the background. Wait, the night is not over yet, after the dinner we will walk to the Lincoln Center to enjoy a small chamber music concert- string quartet by Mozart.

So, you see, you shouldn't make me do the planning, because it will be geographically impossible, and most likely you will be exhausted after all these. But I will go to sleep with a big smile on my face, because I have done all the things I truly love to do and especially, if you also enjoyed the evening, and, if there is a chemistry that has linked all things together.

Then again, all these were not necessary if you were smart and you had made me laugh.
