The Pain
A blade, a twist, a deep bedded wound
A cut, the blood, the path of a tear
A scream on a face, profound to an ear
The pain, the numbness, too cold to bear.
A breath, treading water, beginning to drown
A hope and a memory but dead of all sound
Sinks deeper, thinks looser, starting to blind
Just drowning, the endless isolation of mind.
Disconnected, I see you but not able to feel
Pressurizing, resizing, animating what's real
Confusing, reusing, the fatigue of a word
Coma inducing, too dead to be heard.
The ending, the mending, horizons untold
The debt from the cradle, a journey unsold
Ebbs like a sea unable to flow
The dreams, all inside me
Mismanaged, unfold.
