I've currently been working as an engineer for the past 6 years and, despite my actually quite wonderful coworkers, the windowless lab and endless staring at computer screens is starting to drive me nutty. So, I went back to school and got a degree in criminal justice and plan to attend the police academy this coming winter. Outside of work I don't think that anybody would guess my current occupation, if that says anything about who I am. Since I'm not too keen on long, drawn out descriptions of who I am I'll just make a list:

I make a lot of jokes, tend to hold the door for ladies and the elderly, often make faces or gestures when people take photographs of me, like to enjoy a couple of pints while shooting some pool, like to play cards, enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, fishing, hiking, and swimming, love seeing the latest special exhibit at the museum,
am good with computers, enjoy both nights out and nights in as long as there is good food and some sort of entertainment involved, laugh a lot (often for reasons not apparent to people around me, which gets me a lot of strange looks), love music and often find myself singing even though I'm terrible and you probably don't want to hear it, have had a lot of different pets in my day and have yet to find one I don't like.

I don't have any standard first date, but I find that meeting for coffee or drinks tends to make for the best conversation.
