About Me
I'm Doug - just your average tall dark responsible Bohemian artistic quasi-conservative faux painted wall homeowner far sided humor loving guy that you probably meet everyday ;-) I'm looking for the famous simple but ellusive 3 way combo - a woman that I have mutual physical attraction/emotional& mental chemistry with, gets music and the arts in general, am spiritually on the same page with, and love to talk to more than anyone else. It SEEMS simple, anyways....
I work at an audio software company as VP Sales & Marketing, and I write music that gets used on TV and film as well as work as "guitar player for hire" around Los Angeles. I have a lot of parties at my house with friends and would want a woman that's very comfortable with people in general - which is not to say that I'm not planning LOTS of alone time with that special person ;-) I'm a good cook and have a fireplace that I am happy to serve a great meal by in this sort of cold winter we might have soon when the time is right....which is hopefully way before the air conditioner days kick in!
Also, I sort of have what I call "Dick Clark's disease" - I don't really show the years that much....as opposed to 90% of the people you will meet on the internet, I choose to not "fudge" on my age, nor do I use old pix ;-)
I also have a web site for anyone that wants to hear me musicially - just ask for the address. BTW - I "go to church on Sunday" - it's not a scary thing.....
First Date
Here - this works - it's the lyrics to "so Nice" by Jobim, pretty well put: Someone to hold me tight That would be very nice Someone to love me right That would be very nice Someone to understand Each little dream in me Someone to take my hand And be a team with me
So nice, life would be so nice If one day I'd find Someone who would take my hand And samba through life with me
Someone to cling to me Stay with me right or wrong Someone to sing to me Some little samba song Someone to take my heart And give his heart to me Someone who's ready to Give love a start with me
Oh yeah, that would be so nice I could see you and me, that would be nice
First date - Skydive from the top of Mount Everest in Dior outfits into a vat of champagne on a romantic sunset lit beach in Hawaii by a fireplace - there, that pretty much covers every "first date" requirement I have seen on a dating site ;-) (Seriously, first meetings should be low key, anyone that shows up with flowers and a ring or something like that when they've never met a person in real life yet is possibly insane).
All that being said, dates beyond the first "who are you REALLY" one go up quite a few notches from that - if you're looking for the romantic type, that would be the person that looks at me in the mirror every morning ;-)
SPEAKING OF DATES (and how to get to that point): If we meet, let's just say that "you won't be my first meet and greet internet date" if you know what I mean. For those of us that have done this a few more times than once, without sounding jaded but hopefully just experienced, I want to say that my current policy is to "take things from fantasy (the internet) into reality (the phone and then in person) as soon as makes sense. Lots and lots of emails are nice but they promote a false sense of intimacy that I would prefer to save for after we have met and see if there is chemistry and compatibility - and really, that's "heart protection" for both of us - I hope that makes sense ;-)
One more thing ;-) Go back and look through what I wrote about who I was looking for, and you will notice there are no "no" statements , as in "no amphibians", no people that don't know they are losers, etc. It's amazing how many people write constant "no lists" on their profiles - it really doesn't speak well for the writer and doesn't keep the "no people" away anyways, so why do it? :-)
