| | You know, I often wonder if what people write in these spaces truly matters. I suppose it would matter a little bit when first making contact with someone, but I can almost guarantee that everyone either lies or stretches the truth a little bit, which lessens the impact of everyone's profile. Not to sounds overly cynical, but I think you can tell a lot more about someone by just looking at a picture.
If you're still reading, you're probably wondering why I don't have a picture. Well, honestly, I don't care enough to put one up and I'm also trying to put this whole profile to the test. Does writing a bunch in the profile matter if I don't have a picture? Would it matter what I wrote for my profile if I looked like a model?
Well, you're going to have to talk to me a little bit to find out what I look like. Maybe I do look like a model or maybe I weigh 350 pounds, but I wonder how many people actually want to find out. Are we so driven by aesthetics that we won't take five minutes to message someone to find out about him or her just because a picture is not readily at our disposal? Chances are I neither look like a model nor weigh 350 pounds, but am somewhere in between like the majority of society.
The sad thing is that the majority of people will not take the time to find out. |
