I believe in being upfront and boldly honest. You will either find this extremely annoying, or a big turn-on. I'm sacastic, a smart-ass, playful, funny, warm, kind, affectionate, and very sweet....you will find this refreshing, or wanna choke. I love pets, kids, and people in general.......you will either find this wonderful, or not-so-wonderful. I can find the humor in just about anything.....you'll find this entertaining, or walk out before the movie begins.........


You need to be honest with yourself as well. I'm emotionally and physically healthy, and you should be the same. My emotional baggage is the size of a very small carry-on (o.k. more like a fanny-pack), and yours should be the same. You need to be able to laugh at others and yourself! Be an optimist! Hair is not that important, but you need to embrace your "non-hairness" and not hide it.

You also need to: BE IN SHAPE NOW (Not working on working-out, or thinking about the thought of getting back in the gym)! Looks aren't THE most important thing, but there has to be a physical attraction as well. We all have flaws, so be honest with yourself about them, NO B.S! I'm attractive to a man who is taller than myself, much taller than myself because I'm only 5'4 1/2! I also don't want to be able to bench press your weight. There IS a difference in being in shape or athletic, and being too thin! Men, come-on....you all tend to say your body type is "athletic". Athletic isn't whether you can throw a ball or not...it's talking body type! You should look like you do some sort of exercise on a continual basis to put "athletic".

NO SMOKING(tobacco) OF ANYKIND...yes, dip is smokeless tobacco! No drugies, and only socialized drinking. I guess guys that dance are kinda hard to come by, but if you don't have a big aversion to it, you get brownie points. I understand the "non-religion" answer only if it means you don't like organized religion. I'm a Christian. I believe in a higher power and his name is GOD. What about you? What do you believe in? People are "too politically correct" these days. Take a stand! Believe in something and stick to your guns on it! I have strong values and beliefs, Also, I have a close- nit family. I believe in quality, not quantity when it comes to friends. I don't date because I'm bored. I can go long periods of time without dating anyone. I do socialize with friends and family on a regular basis.


No couch potatoes! I love being active and outside. The hotter and sunnier the day, the better! I've owned several businesses and know what hard work is. I love fixing things, yardwork, and doing home improvement projects. I love working-up a good sweat (there's nothing like the way a bath feels afterwards)! I'm a very low maintenance chick. But, don't be fooled, I'm tough but also a REAL lady and very feminine. I'm independant and strong, but also like the traditional roles of men and women. I like to treat a man as a man, as long as he, in turn treats me as a lady. I'm passionate about everything I do, I believe life should be filled with travel, adventure and fun! I have one teenage son who is almost off to college. I take being a "Mom" as the most important job in the world. You only have one shot to get it right. My son is an honor student, takes both high school and college classes, and has a job. So, are you thinking I'm "too picky" or rigid? Not true! It's called being well-defined in what you want and need. Afterall, if you don't know what you want, how can you know when it comes along? Why should your dating criteria list get shorter. The more life lessons you have and mature you become, the longer the list. No one should settle, men or women, on the person that will make them the happiest!


This a description of my mate: Almost new, pretty interior and exterior, no body damage, engine that purrs, reliable, low maintenance, no wrecks, and low mileage.

You have to be confident in yourself. This does not mean conceited, quite the contrary. There is a difference between knowing what you have to offer and trying to "con" someone. I will know the difference. You must be physically, and emotionally healthy (this means if you are taking prescription meds. for emotional problems, this won't do). Please no recovering addicts either. You must love children and pets. If you have a dog that just stays outside and you don't "live" with them, that's a "no-no". I have a great dog that hangs inside with me, and cats that prefer to be outside mainly. You should take care of yourself. If you take longer than I do to get ready (and I can be ready pretty quick) then you aren't for me. You must be "grounded" without being ignorant, and worldly without being pretentious. I think it's also fair to say, and yes, I'm going to say it.......financially stable. No, this doesn't mean rich or "alotta moola" (no sugar daddies). This means you pay your bills on time, have a future plan, make reasonable financial decisions, and "save for a rainy day." That's enough "weeding-out" for now. I love sarcasm and to laugh. If you can hang, then please write. You may or may not like what I say, but I will always reply back.

I think I can safely say that all of us on POF or any other internet dating websites would prefer a better way to meet someone...say, in the bread isle of H.E.B. You know the good ol' fashion way of meeting where you see the person right away, you talk in person and get a feel for chemistry etc. However, it is what it is here on POF. Realistically, I think there should be an initial interest after looking at one another profiles, followed by an exchange of e-mails, then conversations on the phone. If there is still enough chemistry and interest after that, a "date" should be made to talk/spend time with one another. This all can/should be done probably within a week or so, depending on the two's schedule.

There is no correct answer for "what to do on the first date". I think any place where you can talk and get to know the other person is way better than say, watching a movie.
