I am a gentleman, but not a pushover. I sentimental, but not a weepy, weak-kneed emotionally charged milquetoast. I am romantic (think "renaissance man"), but not boring. After that, well, suffice it to say that I may need to ask for forgiveness for my response (wink)... ***PLEASE NOTE*** As matter of personal preference: I am not attracted to Black women (yeh, I know that I'm black). So, if you have issues with this, be ye' black or white, male or female, save your nasty little emails for someone else; I am not interested in your narrowmindness. It is a personal preference, so respect it. By the way, why is it that the narrower the brain, the bigger the mouth? Just a thought. Soooooooo, beyond that, I am in shape and would like someone who is as well. Sorry, but I am not attracted to BBW (Again, personal preference not a condemnation!!!). If you think that fun is clubbing on the weekends, I'm not your man. If you think Nelly should run for president, again, I am not your man. If the last good book you read was TV Guide, I am not your man. If you end your sentences with "know what I'm sayin'", I am not your man. Picky ain't I? Yep. Been through enough in my life to make these requirements, and yes I have the unmitigated gall to let you know that if you write me and do not fit these few requirements, well, the chances of getting a reply are slim to none and "slim" has already left the building. First date? Puuuuuulease - best behavior silliness! You spend that time picking out an outfit that hardly ever sees the light day and you've already started off on the wrong foot. Sure, you want to make a positive first impression but not at the expense of honesty and the revelation of who you really are. Know what I mean??? By the way, on a first date, if I have something stuck in my teeth, would you willing to tell me? I would. (grin) Based on my personal description, is there anything that would give you the impression that I want a pedestrian first date? Dinner and movie? (gag!) - I'd rather cook you a meal, meet you at the park for some Smooth Jazz and then head off to shoot some pool... Hey, that's me. Done the dinner and movie thing. Done the awkward first meetings....If you're honest in your communication (be that emailing or phone, or whatever), why in the world should there be that oft times shallow and superficial desire to be someone other than you are? And no, I am not jaded, just a lot tired of the dating games that people want to play. So, first date? First dates start in the mind, long before the physical meeting.
