FYI... I'm the one on the left... the other girl is my sister :) Anyhow, I am a genuine, honest and caring person. I believe how you treat someone who can do nothing for you defines who you really are. I feel time is important not to waste, and I have never lived my life where I would have to look back and say that 'I should have, could have or would have.' I love adventure, spontaneity and ambition. I believe life is a constant learning experience, so why waste it?

I still believe there is better out there than what's sitting on the barstool next to you (9/10 times). With over 6 billion people in this world, you should expect more from life than someone of convenience, it's better to be alone, I think, at least the remote is all yours and everything on your TIVO is there because you want it there :)

I'm a warm, monogamous person that loves to laugh, enjoy fine wine, the arts, a night out on the town or a dvd marathon but I also love my flip flops and a cold beer at a little beach bar somewhere at the end of the world. The beach has always been a part of me. I've worked boats and taught scuba from here to there and lived in Belize, the Bahamas and nowhere at all. I love to cook, it's always more fun with someone-- I like tattoos, I think the right one can be fun and have a great lifelong story to tell-- (notice I didn't say 38 of them, lol!) but only in the right places and on the right people-- I love to run and stay fit, be active and am always looking for others that love doing things outdoors whether it be boating, diving, beaching, running, or anything, really. Even just sitting outside after a long day at work, doing nothing more than appreciating the fact that we aren't in the middle of an upper peninsulan snowstorm and there is a palm tree growing in my back yard.
Looking for a person with a good sense of humor (you have to be able to keep up with me- lol!), positive outlook on life, someone who has ambition, drive and class. Everything I do, I do with 100%. Sometimes that's a good trait to have, other times, well... I guess if you're in with me, you have that trait too. I feel I have a lot to offer another person, therefore I can be upfront and say that I am looking for someone with a plan, someone that knows where he would like to be in 5, 10 years; can see himself down the road better than just the next weekend. There is something to be said for accountability, honesty, chivalry and integrity, and I am still hopeful that people like this exist. And finally, the most important thing of all, I am looking for someone who has a kind and loving heart, who is gentle and patient, enjoys children, knows the importance of family, can laugh at themselves (and me) and knows how to enjoy life. After all, isn't that what it's all about? Just a final note... I'm only on here because I have a small son and my job does not allot for meeting people. I'm not looking for an email buddy, I don't have time for it, nor a drinking buddy, booty call buddy or a freak. I don't want anyone outside the 30 to 45 range- we have nothing in common, truly. Older men do not attract me, we are in 2 different times of our lives and money and fitness doesn't matter to me at all if we can't enjoy the same moment in life (sorry). I'm not opposed to a man who has had a child, but I especially do not want a man who has already had all of his children and does not want more children, thinks he might not want more children or has been altered to not have more children. I realize I'm divorced with a small son, but the operative words here are that he IS small, and I still have strong hopes of having a family with the right person and all the happiness that that can bring one day.

I feel that first dates should be a place where 2 people feel comfortable being themselves where they can hear a conversation and have an optional out if need be... HOWEVER... that being said, my perfect first date, would be someone that shows up dressed to impress with the best of manners, is as good of a listener as he is conversationalist, and is as comfortable ordering sushi and fine wine as he is eating tacos off a stand. He must know how to treat the waitstaff well as well as the valet, yet not be disrespected by either, as these times and ages demand respect and are not always given just because. I would hope he could be comfortable watching a spy/murder mystery/intellectual film with me as well as a tear jerker without any sighing (this is, of course, not on the first date). And, be just fine going from a weekend of boating to one of antiquing, beaching or green marketing just to enjoy each others' company. I'm very easy going, athletic and versitile and I am looking for someone who is athletic, gentle, relaxed and has some goals in life, enjoying the same things. Life is great! Let's go find something no one's ever found before!
