Hey everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to read through my profile. Like many people here I find it difficult to write about and adequately sum myself up in a few short paragraphs. I am going to try and touch on some of the main points of what I feel make me the person I am. Hopefully this will pique some interest and lead to further coversations with some of you. Ultimately I'm looking to enter a fulfilling, long lasting relationship, but I realize that all good relationships must start out on a solid foundation of friendship. If all I get out of this site is making a few new friends, then I think I'll be doing okay. So, with that all said, more about me...I'm a considerate, easy-going, loyal guy who values his family and friends above all else. I stand between 5’8” and 5’9” tall, have a slim, athletic build, short dark hair and hazel eyes (two of them, neither made of glass). I’ve been told on a few occasions that I have a nice smile.

Some of my interests include outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, and cycling (mountain biking and road). Travel and learning more about other cultures are big interests of mine as well. I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to parts of Mexico, Scotland and a number of different provinces. I’ve also travelled with my bike in Mali, Cameroon, and Namibia all in West Africa. Ha yeah, I get a lot of odd looks when I tell people this, but bike travel is actually a great way to see and interact with local people. There still are many places on my "to see" list. I’d love to visit Chile, Peru, and New Zealand someday. I’m looking forward to travelling to Nova Scotia and cycling the Cabot Trail later this year. The east coast of Canada is an incredibly beautiful place. I find that I'm drawn back to it every couple of years or so.

Last summer I had the opportunity to try hang gliding for the first time and had a blast. If at all possible, I’d like to take some gliding lessons in the next year or two. I'm also hoping to learn to snowboard this year. My musical tastes are pretty diverse and range from some hip-hop, alternative to indie, new to classic rock. Some bands that I’m into include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Radiohead, Silversun Pickups, Muse, Editors, Kaiser Chiefs, and Kasabian. I’m loving the new Metric and Silversun Pickups CDs; haven’t been able to pull them out of my player since buying them! I’m always interested in finding music from great new bands and love catching live shows whenever possible. The last great live show was the Silversun Pickups in T.O.

Unfortunately, I’m not much of a dancer. I’ve only been brave enough to get out on a dance floor four or five times in my life (with the help of several drinks) and each ended up being pretty much a disaster. This is something that I genuinely would like to improve at. I realize that many of the interests that I’ve listed fall into the "active" or "outdoorsy" categories. I don’t want it to come across as if I'm always on the go or don't appreciate urban life. I do enjoy relaxed, quieter times and am just as comfortable spending a night in cooking a great meal and watching a good movie or two.

I would like to meet an outgoing, positive woman who is comfortable where she is in life. Someone who is not afraid to try new things and who shares in some of my interests.

So there you have it, a pretty straight forward profile. I doubt it will win one of the coveted POF profile of the year awards (too bad, it would look great on the fireplace mantle), but hopefully there’s enough here to give you some sense of who I am.

Conversation over drinks would be a good place to begin and determine if there is any chemistry or not.
