I have a degree in communications from ODU. I am a substitute teacher Mon-Fri and a wedding planner on the weekends. I can honestly say I love my jobs. But I'd love to find someone to spend the evenings with. I'm not your typical girl. I'm a bit of a throw back when it comes to manners and sense of proper behavior. You will almost never hear me curse, I can't stand people with poor manners. I don't own a pair of sweatpants and wouldn't be caught looking a mess out, even if I'm just running to the grocery store. I'd prefer a dinner party with good friends and great conversation to a bar with a keg any day. I don't mean to imply I can't have fun, but I don't feel the need to cause a scene when doing so.

I've had enough bad dates to write a book. I wouldn't say that I have a set type of guy, but there are things I like in men. I want a man who is down to earth, hard working, has a sense of humor, who is trustworthy and honest, is up for trying whatever crazy idea I come up with, who is there for me when things are bad not just when they are good. I want someone who isn't afraid of my faults and is willing to accept me even when I make a mistake. I'm far from perfect and don't need to be put on a pedestal. But I would like to be pampered now and again. I like romance and men who aren't afraid to show me they care. The ones who send flowers cause it's Tuesday and who pick up Chinese food and a girlie movie when they know I'm sick. And I like someone who isn't afraid to hold my hand in public or put his arm around me in a movie theater. I'm quite affectionate and wouldn't want to be with someone who wasn't. I would like to meet someone who really wants to date and put the effort in.

It doesn't take a lot to make me happy but I've yet to find someone willing to put in the effort. Are you him?

Anything but dinner and a movie. I think coffee is a better idea for a first date or something active. Bowling, mini golf, a museum, baseball game. Something to get us talking and past the first date nerves.
