About Me
I liken this site to an open door come and go party.... we mix and mingle and say hello. A few we might chat with ... Perhaps there is the one we might want to meet again. Thank you for your interest.
I am a 53 year old, fairly well preserved*, gentleman. You would find me introspective by nature yet like a fine wine, full of interest and complexity for the discerning mind to enjoy. (I suppose one could say the same about old cheese, but it is my profile, so I get to choose the metaphor!). I digress...
I hope to build a relationship with an intelligent, attractive, spiritually grounded, and emotionally mature woman. Emotionally secure does not mean she is without doubts, yet can handle the vagaries of life in balance with faith. And spiritually grounded means she values her Christian faith without having to be a Bible thumper.
A relationship is comparable to a garden. We don't seem to mind the work to get it started, but then it does need ongoing attention, lest weeds invade and it withers from neglect. With a bit of attention and nurturing, it can be a joy through all seasons.
If you don't like that one.. ask me about the canoe metaphor.
Profile under development.. more to follow.
"I believe" relates to the song (written by Stevie Wonder) sung by Art Garfunkle. I did have a link to youtube but it seems to have upset the forum police... a lovely song and sung beautifully if you care to google your way toward it.
Another bit of prose that I have found inspirational...
....To see the world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a flower. To hold eternity in the palm of your hand and infinity in an hour...
I've read Mars and Venus on a Date. The book may be 20% garbage, but then it is 80% bang on! I've found it a good guide to make dating more purposeful and to help keep a good relationship progressing. A guide for the dating perplexed. Tell me what you think.

I BELIEVE adapted from Y. Wright, S. Wonder
Shattered dreams, worthless years Here am I encased inside a hollow shell. Life began, then was done Now I stare into a cold and empty well. The many sounds that meet our ears, The sights our eyes behold, Will open up our merging hearts And feed our empty souls.
Without despair we will share And the joys of caring will not be replaced. What has been must never end And with the strength we have won't be erased. When the truths of love are planted firm they're only hard to find, And the words of love I speak to you will echo in my mind.
I believe when I fall in love this time it will be forever. I Believe When I Fall In Love With You It Will Be Forever.
βFor a long time it has seemed to me that life was about to begin β Real Life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid β then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.β
First Date
In the warmer weather I'd love to have you join me for a picnic at a nice scenic spot...something simple. yet elegant. During the cooler months, coffee or a drink is reasonable. I suppose if we are right for each other, the where is not as important as the who.
