About Me
Hi. Isn't it refreshing to read a profile that doesn't start with the words 'oh my god i never know what to write here'
My name is Adam and I am in London and feel a little bit lost. So much to do and see and such a massive city. I do love it here though and I'm glad I get the opportunity to live here. I'm originally from Manchester (Yes, I love Oasis, and Manchester United) but was brought up in a small town in the lake district.
I am an ambitious person and want to travel the world. I would love to go to Las Vegas, but also to Japan and pretty much anywhere really, I like to explore.
I am currently writing my first book having already written a play for the stage. It is about growing up in a small town (sounds boring but good reviews so far. Any aspiring writers want to take a look then email me... be happy to show you and get your opinions.
I am currently doing a PGCE in secondary English, media and drama at london metropoliton university which I really enjoy as I love teaching young people about the world and English is the best subject to do that in.
I play poker often but am a winning player (getting to be a second income for me) hard times as a student.
I am also currently preparing my stand-up comedy routine and am looking to perform soon. I love comedy be it on TV or at stand up clubs.
Musically I like pretty much anything that is good. I'm just as likely to be rocking out in a metal club than I am to be throwing shapes at a house music venue. My fave artists include Johnny Cash, Sinatra, Clash, Oasis, Dr Dre, Sex Pistols and many more. So diverse tastes.
UPDATE.
Things i love - When french people say well-ah - I wish we had an English equivalent.
When people cook for me. I honestly think it is the nicest most brilliant thing someone can do for someone else. (Even if its just toast, just the fact that they made something for me is pretty special) If someone made me a cake i think i would cry.
Cream eggs at this time of year (Jan) are great because they are still runny inside. By Easter they are usually hard centered.
An extra duvet when its cold in my room.
Flipping the pillow over when its a hot night and getting the cold side. And the race to get to sleep before it becomes hot again.
Feelings of nostalgia. When a smell takes me back to my primary school canteen, or when I see a bit of a film on TV that I used to watch over again as a child and remembering past Christmases (Muppets Xmas carol) Walking past the house i lived in as a teenager.
Things i hate -
'email me, i don't bite.... unless you want me 2 ;)' Grrrrr (always at bottom of profiles, please from now on can people leave out the 'unless you want me to' its cringe worthy and really, who bites on a first date?
'What you see is what you get' (this is a false persons catchphrase, avoid)
tutting... tutting is the lowest form of human interaction but English (and especially Londoners) people use it as a staple of our language. if you don't like something, say so, if we bump into each other on a crowded street DON'T TUT after i say sorry, its just as much your fault as mine.
Norwich Unions new adverts.... I hate them and now have to turn the TV off whenever they come on. especially that one when they are in the pub, I'm never going to use Norwich union for the rest of my life. Make a proper advert.... like the new pg tips one with the dancing monkey and Johnny Vegas.... that's class.
If you want to know anything else, just ask. And ill hopefully be spending time with some of you soon.
First Date
Cold weather = Two of us wrapped up warm in big coats and scarfs and gloves and going for a walk to a chip shop and eating the chips outside while walking and talking. And struggling with that wooden fork you get with gloves. Actually, we would take off one glove each for easier fork holding. Then a Cuppa tea when we get inside to warm up.
Hot weather = would have to be a picnic in one of London's parks. I quite like that one at the top of oxford street because it would be fun to watch the shoppers while we lay and relaxed. Also i love that ice cream shop that is there for after the picnic.
adambuck has 2 roses that can be sent.
