It's hard to tell someone about yourself in just a few paragraphs and have them really be interested in the "real you". My name is Michael and I grew up in St. Louis, MO. I went on a lot of vacations when I was very young and saw a lot of places that I don't remember. I'd like to go back and see them one day as I still like traveling. (Well, not the part about driving and getting on a plane, but being somewhere away from home.)

My interest in music started when I was young as well. The interest was mostly in listening, although I do enjoy using computers to make music, but barely ever have the time to do so and am not very talented because of the fact. I had learned to play the saxophone in Middle school and wish that I had learned to play the piano instead, as I feel that would have transfered over better and been more "universal". My taste in music is extremely varied, I listen to hop-hop, rock, techno, electronic, classical, pop, bluegrass, and others. I'm also very interested in the reproduction of music, speakers, acoustics, concerts, etc... In High school i worked as a DJ and technician where I set up events to DJ at. Then, in college I ran a production group for two years whose responsibility was to give technical services to concerts or other acts. So, I like buttons, knobs, and wires and tend to be a "behind the scenes" guy unless I'm DJing.

I've always been interested in science and technology since before I knew what a computer was. We had a lot of technology in our grade school curriculum and I got interested in computers. I also became very interested in shop class in Junior High, and was quite talented in my opinion. While interested in the aesthetic side of those things, I was more intrigues by the workings of machines and taking things apart to find out how to improve them. I've found this trait has found it's way into other parts of my life, perhaps my lurking interest in psychology or helping people figure things out (for better or worse). This of course led to my college career in engineering, one that I've planned on pursuing for a long time and am just now about finished with.

In college I found I had a somewhat natural interest in capitalism and business. With an engineering background and an interest in making things better, applying those concepts to making money became very easy and interesting. I've since started a company while in school and have enlisted the help of many others. This is the primary reason I'm not sure what I'm looking for right now, as I am don't really have any free time since I'm starting my business, but I do want someone to share it all with someday!

Hopefully in the future it will turn out all right and I'll be able to dedicate loads of time to my family. I've wanted a family for as long as I can remember and that is the driving force behind almost everything that I do. My main goal is to have my career set so I don't have to focus on that at all while raising kids. I want them to have as much of my time as possible and be very involved in their lives and futures.

I'm a shy at first but quick to be outgoing person once I start talking to someone. I enjoy laughing and don't like drama. I'm a good problem solver. I like to fix things and help people. I like contributing to the world and want to leave my mark. I enjoy making money and spending it. I like nice things, have some, and want more. I'm planning on running my own fledging business one day and have already started it. My number one goal is to have a family and be able to support them and give them the world. I love to have fun and enjoy doing geeky things. I'm a "doer" and not a "talker". I find that being in big groups of people can be as fun as sitting and watching TV with one person, depending on my mood. I like TV shows that have complicated and intricate plots which require you to watch every show and look for small details to put a larger puzzle together. I'm extremely trustworthy and try to look for the best in people, but sometimes forget to. I love tinkering and my favorite toy when I was young was legos (and I still have all of them to give to my kids some day, all 85 pounds of them...) I like knowing things and love being able to access anything I want with the internet. I can't imagine growing up in a world without it. I like knowing secrets. I like psychology and try to understand people and how to best work with them, which makes me able to work with more people than most, but can cause me to overanalyze things sometimes. I'm an excellent communicator and enjoy connecting with people and talking about goals, plans and aspirations.

I have never "dated" before, and am not really interested in the idea of it. I'm much more interested in learning about a person and seeing how we get along before I put myself out and say that I'm interested in a romantic way. But, I guess going out and getting to know someone you've never met has to start with something. I'd go for something unique, like a car show or festival before a movie (although I love curling up on a couch and watching TV or movies with someone that can keep me warm!)
