Florida was my home until I moved recently to the Louisiana hill country. I absolutely love it here, but it is very rural and tough to find single new friends to do things with. I am a deeply spiritual person of high morals and personal integrity, but am admittedly rather indifferent to religion. I prefer to assess myself and others by what they do in life rather than how churchy they are.

I love animals, peace and quiet, intelligent friends, and to laugh. I am seeking friends who share my love of the land, and a special Someone to bond closely with and share the rest of our lives together. It would be wondrous to meet a gentleman who shared my ideas to develop a home business of our own, too. I think it would be great to escape the 9-5 grind and work for myself for a change.

I enjoy my alone time, but it gets old, and I wish you were here to share the funny things and the harder ones when your advice would make all the difference. I'm interested only in finding my best friend anywhere whose life I make happier and who adds to mine as well.

Thanks to a computer crash, I have only the one picture up on this profile for now. It was taken last Fall when my friends came over for a housewarming party at my place. The lovely black lady is my best pal from NYC, and the young man is my godson, who came from the UK to visit for the summer. That is me in the middle, not believing how bad the picture he took was on his camera *laughs*

I'm like the girl way back who was your best gal pal at work or at school, and years later you remember and wonder what she's doing now and how things might have turned out if you'd picked her instead... Friendship with you is as important, or moreso, to me, than romance. You can love someone for the rest of your life, but you simply will not like them every day. That's the time the friendship matters most.

Oh, and my divorce was over 20 years ago. No help for that, and no baggage either. A brief mistake of youth.

First date? I'd rather keep it public, like a local restaurant, or maybe we can go somewhere where we can also be doing something to help us find those first things to talk about. I hate dating, to be honest, and prefer to just go and do something we'd both like to do.
