Thanks for checking out my profile. I am an academic scientist in Miami. Moved here from California in May 2007. After 6 years in smog filled L.A., nice to be here. I hope we meet soon and click off the internet.

So far, POF has been pretty much useless for dates. I have emailed a few women, who have not responded - or even looked at my profile. Therefore, to save us both time, I am going to take the following approach to POF:

I will look at new members and some search and random profiles. If I find your profile interesting, I will add you to my 'favorites'. If you find me interesting, would like me to contact you, and have read this far, click to make me a favorite of you. At this point, POF will send me an email that someone (you!) has added me to your favorites list. When I get back to my computer, I'll double check your profile and then (if I'm still interested) send you an email with more contact information.

I am not interested in endless emails. The trajectory is: favorites -> email -> phone call(s) -> date(s).

About "Blink" - Read the book. Your and my first impressions are likely to have a big impact on whether we connect - or not.

So far, mostly has been Saturday evening for a drink and/or dinner in Coral Gables, Scotty's Landing in Coconut Grove, Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Those have been ok. Open to meeting at other places, such as the botanical gardens, seaquarium, natural science museum. Have only been to south beach twice, once for my job interview in spring 2007, so interested in going there again under more relaxing circumstances.
