About Me
Hello there, I am Val. I am the mother of 7 grown up kids and have been on my own for the last 25 years. As i received no maintenance for them It was up to me to provide and so i did 2 jobs to keep them and pay my mortgage. By day I worked in the local council office and at night I worked as a barmaid . This was my social life as well.
I did an 18 hour day with looking after the home as well and it took its toll on me and in 88 i developed cancer from which i fully recovered. I was ill for a long time and due to my stressful life i was pensioned off with ill health in 91.
I still had a mortgage to pay so I took in students to help pay my bills.I did this for over 15 years ,but it gave me no social life. I have now started to rent my rooms out instead so that i can start enjoying a bit of life for myself.
I am very loyal,loving and tactile. i like the simple pleasures in life and am not into wining and dining. Indeed, i have 100 or so bottles of wine and champagne which were presents from students and have no desire to drink them
I have always loved reading and have learned a lot over the years from books . I love watching The weakest link and Eggheads and other quiz programs and also love the soaps,sorry.
I like crosswords as well.Sunday mornings usually finds me at the carboot sales ,weather permitting.
I am buying a place in Spain where i like to go when i can and usually have to talk one of my family into going.
Swimming is a favourite when i am there and looking round the local markets and buying all the lovely fruit and veg.
The men I like are usually the practical kind and are good fun.I used to be the joker in the office and like other people like that. they must be kind and considerate and loving ,but they must allow me my own space, I have been on my own so long now that I would find it hard to have someone try and run my life. Advise me...yes ...and help but not take over...
