I picked Dating to start, but I am really looking for something long term. Too bad you can't pick both on the profile.

I enjoy going to the movies and dinner. I hang out a lot at restaurants with a quiet atmosphere like Smokey Bones, Fridays, Bennigans, The Ale House, Blu Sushi, or maybe the mall or bookstores. I don't like trying to meet people in loud places like dance clubs or bars, but don't mind going with someone. I like getting out for active things like tennis, bowling, shooting pool and poker every now and then. I'm not a sports addict, but I do like football and hockey. I like to cook so I watch Food Network more than ESPN. I'm more of a fan of dramas and comedies like 24, The Shield, Law and Order, Lost, Nip Tuck, Monk, Psych, Scrubs. I'm not that big a fan of boating or fishing, but I like the beach, day or night. You won't be a "fishing or golf widow".

I own an Internet related business that almost runs itself so I work when I want. Maybe I'll show up to take you lunch every now and then. I'm pretty active in the Stock Market. I also like to occasionally go out of town for a weekend, usually just Tampa, Orlando, or Miami. I'm very intelligent and have a great sense of humor, I'll keep you laughing. One of my online businesses shows off my wittiness, I'll bring you a sample when we meet, you'll love them.

I'm also VERY laid back and kind of go with the flow. I don't think I'll ever be the life of the party, but I have a good time. I prefer 80's classic rock, Def Leppard and Journey are my favorites. I try to go to most of the classic rock concerts between Miami and Tampa.

I haven't had much luck meeting women to date. I am probably the nicest guy you will ever meet, and I know how to treat a lady with respect. Chivalry is not completely dead. I've lived in the Fort Myers area my whole life, except for 10 years in the Navy as a nuclear chemist on submarines. During my Navy years I lived in NY, VA, Orlando, and spent my last 4 years in Hawaii. I also have a couple of puppies, so I hope you aren't allergic.

I would prefer to date someone near Fort Myers (I usually get at least one email a month from some woman in Russia). No smokers, I kissed a smoker once, that was enough. It would be nice to meet someone and just go out dinner every now and then, or someone to watch TV with.

I have 2 kids that stay with me every other week. An 18 year old girl who spends most of her time hanging out with friends, working, or going to classes at ECC, and a 12 year old boy who does normal boy stuff. He needs better competition than me at video games though, do you have one that can beat him?

for fun:
I like going out to dinner and a movie. I have an amazing Home Theater system. Just staying in some evenings and watching a DVD/Video, or the movie channels (love TIVO) w/ popcorn is cool. Playing cards, tennis, bowling, most outdoor activities.

My kids and I just made this amazing "thing" for outdoor parties. You'll have to ask what it is, but it's for both adults and kids. Everyone that comes to our parties talks about how cool it is. We usually do it one or two Saturdays a month and my kids invite their friends over.


my job:
One of my favorite books is "Multiple Streams of Income". I mostly do that now with various home/internet businesses and stock market investing/trading. I'm thinking about getting a part-time job at the mall to meet more people, but probably won't.

my education:
I was a nuclear chemist on submarines in the Navy. Lots of college level schooling, but it's all classified so the Navy can't transfer it to a civilian college and give me a degree.

favorite hot spots:
I try to go Vegas once a year, but I haven't gone recently because I haven't had anyone to go with. I would rather go to Vegas, NYC, or a cruise, instead of camping (city boy). Almost went to Paris recently, plans failed. Were do you want to go?

favorite things:
Favorite foods: anything grilled, mexican, pizza, sushi, seafood. I'm always going out to restaurants and trying new ones. I have a couple of not well known favorites, but you'll have to go with me to find out where they are.

last read:
I subscribe to a few entertainment and fitness magazines. Robert Parker Mysteries (Spenser:For Hire), Elmore Leonard (Get Shorty, Be Cool), mostly detective/spy books with some humor, cookbooks (Bobby Flay), dumb trivia books, stock market/finance books

I think lunch is the best first date. There is usually a pre-set time limit. If it doesn't work out you can come back here and look for your 6 ft tall, male model, alpha male fire fighter with a million dollar trust fund that plays guitar in his spare time.

Nothing wrong with dinner and a movie either.
