Well, I was told that I needed a new look, so I went ahead and did it...goatee and new, shorter haircut. It's not really a "new" look anymore, being that it's about nine months old now. But it's a complete change for me from the clean-shaven look of a few years and a moustache for what seems like a lifetime.
I was once described as seeing life through the eyes of a child. I took that to mean that I try to enjoy life every day and find something to make me smile. I have a quick wit and a great sense of humor. I like to make people laugh to put them at ease, but my humor can be rather quirky at times. I also lean to the sarcastic side, especially when I'm trying to make a point. But I try not to overdo it.
Tattoos and piercings -- I guess I need to expand a bit on this subject. As for tattoos and body piercings I put "No opinion" but I do not really care for an overly adorned woman. What that means is that I really don't care for numerous or overly large tattoos like angel wings on the back or vines running down the legs. The same goes for piercings. Nose, ears (multiples), lips, eyebrows are all fine. But if you're going to set off the Hartsfield Airport metal detector, that's probably a bit much for me. However, it all kind of all depends on the individual, and I try to appreciate the fact that each woman has her own style. I myself have neither piercings nor tattoos.
In terms of basic relationship values, I believe that honesty and respect are the prime foundation of a relationship. Everything else should flow from there. My perfect date would be simply having dinner with someone and sharing natural, spontaneous conversation and perhaps a few laughs. Oh, one more thing - I put down "no way" for smoking, but I do occasionally enjoy a cigar (perhaps six per year). Other than that I stay away from tobacco.
I am not necessarily looking to jump headlong into a relationship, since I believe that relationships work best with your mate is your best friend. I am open to LTR but not immediately. I am definitely open to things progressing beyond that point with the right person. I would like her to have a good sense of humor, a willingness to try new things, and a sense of adventure.
On the spiritual side I'm not what I would call devout, but I do hold very strong spiritual beliefs. I confess that I do not attend church as regularly as I should, but that should not be confused with a lack of faith. My primary goal is to try to accept others as they are, for I know that I am far from the perfect individual.
I also indicated "Undecided/Open" for wanting children. I actually love kids, and if you have some, grown or not, that would be awesome. I have not been blessed with that gift, but it the right person came along and things fell into place, then I would gladly entertain the idea. Never say "never".
I should also mention that I love to cook, although I do not get much of a chance to do so very often due to my work schedule. However, now that I am assigned to a remote project, I will probably be doing it much more often. My two favorites these days are cheesecake (I prefer NY style but I have a great creamy style recipe, too) and just recently leg of lamb. It appears that I will have to combine these two into a whole meal at some point. And I was proud to have a request from one of the girls from CKD class to bake her a birthday cheesecake, creamy style. :o)
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR:
First and foremost for me is intelligence.

While appearance is important (Let's be honest) the most attractive quality to me that a woman can possess is a sharp and engaging mind. Personality also plays into that. If those factors are all in place, then the stage is set for the rest to care of itself.
That's all for now. Peace...out for now.

Update - Dec 2009
I try to exercise regularly, which mainly consists of Choi Kwang Do martial arts class 2 or 3 times per week. I had been going now for about about 23 mos, and I just took my test for black belt. I believe that I passed, but it won't be official until Monday night.
The other thing that I started about two months ago is another martial art, Krav Maga, which I took for the variety and to learn something different. All knowledge is good, right? I wanted to learn something new, and it was supposed to be a very good workout. I have to admit that it is a workout and a half, just what I need. The class is in off 400 in Roswell, so I only go once a week, since navigating evening rush-hour traffic can be trying. But it's fun and interesting, so I'll stick with it.
Oh, yeah, I am a huge dog lover, but due to the travel usually inherent with my job, I have no pets.
I like to try new restaurants, someplace that makes it easy to talk and get to know one another. Obviously, that would mean somewhere not too noisey. Lunch dates are always good for that or even coffee, especially during the colder months. So assuming the chemistry is right, perhaps a comedy club afterwards would be fun or just something spur of the moment. I'm flexible.
