I'm relatively new to the Champaign area. My son and I recently moved here when I received a job promotion. We haven't met a whole lot of people yet and are trying to learn the town and see what there is to do here. We did recently go to see a parade in Tolono and fireworks in Arthur. The parade was unimpressive (to say the least), but the fireworks were unbelievable. How the heck does a town that small pull those off?

I'm very easy to get along with and don't ask for much from other people. I'm a laid back, down to earth, sarcastic and smart man. I don't get excited about too much. Usually I am calm and collected. For the most part, I am not one to act on a whim. I usually think about things before I undertake them. I prefer for things to be planned out. I love watching goofy sitcoms like "Seinfeld" and "Everybody Loves Raymond." I love to laugh and I'm constantly cracking jokes, if for no other reason than to amuse myself.

I have a one-year old son who is the light of my life. My entire world revolves around him. If you aren't good for him, then you aren't good for me. I am one of the few lucky guys out there who has full custody, so I spend a lot of my free time taking care of him.

The last year of our lives has been pretty volatile and crazy. Aside from being promoted, my son and I moved here hoping to settle down and begin our lives anew. So far, so good. Now I am looking to begin the next chapters of my life and am ready to start looking for a life partner again.

There are several things that are important to me in a woman. These are at the top of the list. First and foremost, you must be good with kids and be accepting of the fact I have an infant son. A great sense of humor is another requirement. I prefer women that are not overly high-maintenance. You must be able to hold an intelligent conversation with me and have some control over your spending habits. Physical attributes are not nearly as important as intangibles, but there does have to be an attraction.

This is tough to answer. It depends on the weather, the girl and so many other factors. I hate movies for first dates. If you can't talk, how can you get to know each other?
