So, about me... The most recent interesting stuff I've done-- which'll probably be out of date because I never update this thing:

In the last couple years I've been to Puerto Vallarta, Dublin (the real one), and Madrid. I've also been to Paris and around the UK. This december I'm going to the Bahamas with family for some scuba diving and touristy stuff. At some point I want to visit South America.

I speak just enough spanish to get the job done, and just enough French to insult the waiter's mother.
I swim, bike, and run- often in that order- hike, etc. Love the outdoors.
I've got a PhD. The Terminator signed it.
I love good books (most recently, "Internal Combustion" and "Dumbing Us Down") and good movies (Donnie Darko, bladerunner, usual suspects). Know an amazing book/hole-in-the wall taqueria/movie I've just got to experience?
I own cowboy boots, and know how to use 'em.
I really, really love food. I'm that skinny guy people hate because he's constantly eating.
I've been in the bay area for about a year now. It's still not quite "home" yet-- but I'm working on it.

And about you... I'll get along with you as long as you don't smoke and can hold up one end of a conversation. You'll get along with me if you don't think vegetarians are crazy or want to talk about your Deep Personal Relationship With Jesus (I'm sure he was super cool, really). I get along best with people who are just a little sarcastic or cynical. If you're puppies and rainbows 24x7, it'll be an entertaining process as we drive each other crazy.

Mostly I'm looking for companionship. If you know where all the cool stuff is up here, are another new transplant who wants to explore, or merely think you're more entertaining than my job (I'm so picky :) drop me a note. I'd be satisfied if I just met some cool people to date and/or hang out with-- give me excuses to try new restaurants, find the great live music that's hiding somewhere, generally break my routine. If you turn out to be "the one," even better.

And I love the dancing banannanananana. So I'm going to leave some space for that here:
