I'm not really looking per se, but the kind of guy I'd like to meet is funny and smart, has his act together but doesn't take himself too seriously, keeps his luggage in the closet, and can be himself.

I'm a writer on the cusp of being able to give up my day job in IT. My interests are all over he map and I'll try anything once. I've done all my hardcore partying so I'm at a point in my life where I want to be around educated, successful guys around my age who can carry a conversation instead of try to drink me under the table.

I don't think the specifics matter, but for first dates I think anything where conversation can happen is good. I like coffee dates, but the more creative the better.
