I appreciate a well-crafted song with a story to tell, or at least a decent message to deliver. I am definitely not a song writer or even a musician - those things take a talent that haven't yet developed, although I still keep trying. Although they may not be your chosen genre, give the songs a listen as you have a reflective moment to see what I mean. The songs and quotes generally describe my outlook on life and my sense of humor, for better or for worse.
To describe the type of music I am drawn to, I’ll quote the great Texas singer-songwriter Steve Fromholz, who describes his music as follows: "We call it free form country folk rock science fiction gospel bluegrass opera cow jazz music."
I am a kind, generous, and good man seeking kind, loving, and attractive female for traveling life's long and winding road. She should prefer the back roads over the Interstates, and be comfortable with less than precise schedules and planning. I am a native Texan with a job that allows / requires somewhat frequent travel to other states and regions of the country. Texas is still and always will be Home. I enjoy good wine (prefer reds over whites), weekend travel/exploration, antique shopping, or just wandering aimlessly down an unknown road, seeking to discover an unexpected gem of a restaurant or antique shop. I believe God has a plan for our lives, but will allow us to take our own chosen paths to achieve that end, either by the straight path or the circuitous path.
I have been widowed once (after 17 years), divorced once (short-lived miss-step), and have seen my three children graduate from college and move forward through an admittedly tough road. We are very close and I would expect any lady in my life will feel the same toward her family, while including me and mine as I would include her and her family. I get a lot of mostly undeserved credit for correctly raising my children from an early age, but all I did was define the road and keep them between the ditches. They typically made all of the right choices, making my job fairly easy. It was, and still is, a joyous journey to watch. I am constantly amazed at the resilience of youth.
First Date
Something open and agreeable to both parties that allows easy conversation and an easy out if necessary. Nothing too confining or complicated at first. Could be drinks, wine, coffee, morphing into dinner...whatever.
