I am a retired gentleman looking for a lady with a variety of interests. Travel is important to me and by extension photography. For traveling, I need a companion who is good with maps and willing to kiss the driver occasioanally. Since acquiring a GPS, the map thing isn't so important, but the other still holds. I love movies, plays, music, and art exhibits. Trains are a passion and I've been known to go out of my way for a good rail excursion. TV has limited appeal. Sports are fine if the teams are local. Computers are for e-mail and trip planning. Grandchildren are for hugging. In other words, I like a lot of things, but nothing to distraction.

A first date is for getting acquainted, so something quiet for openers. The venue must be quiet, hopeefully romantic and conducive to quiet conversation and future planning. A meal and a movie are good because they afford a common experience for conversation. Likewise, concerts allow comparison of likes and dislikes. Above all, communication is important. Initially, that can be accomplished with words, but adults communicate on many levels and I look forward to all of them.
