About Me
I spend most of my working days in meetings or at my computer so in my own time
I like to relax in one of four ways

1) Reading - keeping my brain active with non-fiction and escaping with fiction

2) Playing cards - bridge, euchre and poker are so different. They're all
interesting in different ways and the social aspects are the most enjoyable.

3) Watching a few good TV shows - nice downtime at the end of a day. If you can't
laugh at Boston Legal when they're being so silly, then you're just too serious
for me :)

4) Doing something active - my favourite. I used to play a lot of badminton and
squash and I enjoyed the socializing as much as the adrenalin. I used to
skate and cross-country ski and I'd like to do that again. Dancing I liked
but was never good at; I need a (very patient) teacher :)

I did have a motorcycle when I was younger (a nice BMW) so I don't have to do
the male menopause routine and buy a Harley now.

Two years ago I started bicycling and found that painful until ... I tried a
recumbent bike (the kind you recline back on) Suddenly no pain!
Does it say something about my personality that I'm riding an unusual bike?
Maybe; I think it says I'm willing to do the "better" thing even if it's
unconventional. Recumbents are more comfortable, safer and faster.
Why would I ride a normal bike? :)

I will confess to enjoying being outdoors riding my bicycle for the entire day.
Some men play 36 holes of golf - I like riding and having endorphins while I enjoy
the countryside. There is a small and deeply disturbed group of bikers that I ride
with so it is a social activity. Many bicyclists will ride for a few hours and stop
for a meal and to talk. We do the same ... it's just that the other riders stop at
that point and we do it again (and again). Otherwise I'm relatively sane :)
The 600 Plus refers to the longest bicycle ride I've done (so far :)) of just over
600K in two days. hmmm maybe I'm not that sane after all :(

I do go to the gym but I'm not a fanatic about fitness. I like ice cream and desserts
but I like being fit and strong and knowing that I can out-ride most people.
Self-confidence comes from within and riding long distances teaches that mental
strength is important.

I am full of energy but I like to alternate quiet times with active times.

I'm looking for someone who cares what she's doing, who is engaged and enthusiastic
and passionate about whatever makes her happy. That attribute carries over into
how you view the world, how you treat people and everything you do.

First Date
Let's meet for a coffee and talk and get to know each other a bit.
(well I don't drink coffee just because I never acquired the taste,
but I can always find something else to drink. Because the cyclists
seem to stop only at Timmies, I may own the record for the most coffee
shops visited by a non-coffee drinker :) ).

If we can make each other smile and laugh and we're interested then we could go
for a walk - by the waterfront, through some of the interesting streets
in Toronto or through a nice park.
