Is passion overrated? What about chemistry? I often wonder about these themes, as I’ve been told again and again “what you want is impossible,” and “there is hardly any sex in my marriage anymore.” Somehow the two things collapsed unto themselves.

My passion for life has taken me to leave Brazil, to live in Canada, and the US. To change careers, be exposed to different sources of knowledge, different cultures and languages. To accomplish the impossible because I’mpossible. I’ve been labeled intense like a burning sun. Well, there is no life without the sun. Period. Messing up the ozone layer is a different essay.

As for chemistry, the undefinable and highly overrated “something” everyone quotes, this seems to be the first thing to disappear in a long term relationship from my friends’ reports. Meanwhile, passion continuously generates sparks of fulfillment, which yield chemistry. Which leads me to believe that living life passionately may solve the chemistry puzzle. Forgeddabout warm feelings. I want to be a supernova!

About The One I’m Looking For

You read until 2 a.m. on a working day because you can’t put the book down. You wonder about the environment we are leaving for the next generation. Will wolves and seals be extinct in 20 years? You think Sundays are to sleep in, have sex in the morning and have breakfast in bed while reading the papers. You prefer the summer and the beach but are also comfortable with chilly evenings with a cup of hot chocolate by the fireplace. You love Weeds and laugh at Pinky and The Brain. You call your parents once a week because you know they will not be here someday. You think warp speed is beautiful, you travel light, and given the choice, you’d take the red pill in a heartbeat! You go to the other side of the Universe with a smile for the ones you love. You put your foot down for your values, even though you are open to reassess them if needed. You keep your word and keep me on time. You create a better future by being complete with your past, and your future is so bright you gotta wear shades! You are humbled by the starry sky at night and you live each moment like it was the last one. You understand that your life is your creation, and that if it doesn’t match your desires, your manifestation skills need improvement. That Life is an ongoing dance between pain and pleasure, and while pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. You are not afraid to say “I’m sorry, can we talk this out?” You laugh easily and cry sometimes. You still wonder what you will be when you grow up. You live in awe and in gratitude.
