About Me
Okay, so a few people, including my roommate have talked me out of deleting my profile. Why I've listened to them, I'll never know. According to them, I'm just shutting myself off from multiple doors of opportunity. We'll see. I've thought a lot about what I should write here since I previously erased everything I had written here. I'm just a cool guy who hasn't found what he's looking for. I'm not perfect. I'd be lying if I said I was. I've got big goals and dreams and apparently I've taken the long way around to get there. I'm going back to school, either in the fall or spring to start on a degree in Tourism business. It's something I think I'd be happy doing. Does anyone start going to college completely sure that their major is exactly what they want to do? I didn't. I've spent the last nine years in different jobs in different places and fields. I've been in sales, in food service, in human resources and various other occupations. I've worked in factories, in restaurants, amusement parks and resorts and I think I've finally found my niche in tourism.

Okay, enough about my career, or lack thereof. Like I said, I'm just a cool guy, with great outlook on life. I feel like it's not a sprint, it's a marathon, and whoever comes out at the end the happiest, not necessarily first, is the one who wins.

I'm a fan of summer nights on the porch, drinking a good beer, or a glass of wine watching the sun go down and smelling the summer wind. I enjoy a powder day in the Rocky Mountains at nine in the morning with two feet of new snow and a good friend. I like bonfires in the fall with the smell of fallen leaves and crisp air. I like being different from the masses, whether it be driving a classic BMW or truly enjoying a folk album on a long drive. I like to stay up late and watch a good TV show, movie, or listening to music while I unwind. I like nights out with the boys to the big city, or a night at the local bar with my closest friends. I love motorcycles, but have never owned one. That will change soon. Family and friends are important to me, but I rarely show it. I've got a ton of things I'd love to do, but never get the chance.

I've got an eclectic taste in music. I'll listen to absolutely anything. Literally. I can appreciate just about any music played for me. My favorites are Rock, Swing, Rockabilly, Punk, Country, some Hip Hop, you name it. From Frank Sinatra, to the Beatles, Electric Light Orchestra, Van Halen, Kenny Chesney, the Gin Blossoms, Blink 182, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Collective Soul, Gym Class Heroes, Linkin Park, Tantric, Dave Matthews, Matchbox 20, Brooks and Dunn, Black Eyed Peas, Basshunter, Alex Guadino, Michael Buble, Sister Hazel... I think you get the idea. Those are just the ones I can think of off of the top of my head.

Anyway... I'm a little old fashioned. I'm a hopeless romantic. I'm intelligent, I'm funny (I think so) and I'm a great guy to get to know, so email me, I don't think you'll be disappointed. You may even be surprised.

First Date
I hate first dates. Vince Vaughn had it right in Wedding Crashers. It's a "forced, awkward, intimate situation."

It's true. People have too many expectations for a first date. All the expectations should be reserved for the second or third date when both people have decided that the other person is someone they really want to get to know and/or be with. The first date is really just an interview for a second date. No one should take it personally if a first date doesn't work out. A first date should be something informal and short unless is goes well, and then it can go from there.
