I asked a friend to describe me for this profile. She said - "you're a nice guy and a loyal friend, any girl would be lucky to have you"......So I shot her and wrote it all myself.

Well I guess it’s time to start taking this dating thing a bit more seriously….or maybe I should take it less seriously, sort of like Douglas Adams’ explanation of how to fly ‘you have to throw yourself at the ground and miss’ meaning if you think about something too much you never get anywhere, and we all know why the fallen angel fell, cos he stopped taking himself lightly.

I have been accused of taking life too lightly, which may be true to a large extent but I can be serious when I have to. Like when it comes to my kids, of which I have many, and although they are mostly grown up they do live with me at least half of the time. As everyone knows single parents are not the wealthiest people in the world so if you’re into spontaneous trips to Paris for breakfast then I’m not the guy for you, spontaneous I can do but…unless you want to pay, Paris is out.

I’ve been single for a long time now and honestly I’m a bit sick of it. They (whoever ‘they’ are) say you have to be comfortable with yourself before you can be comfortable with someone else; I reached that point years ago now I’m just bored with myself. Besides it’s easy to be comfortable with someone that never argues or answers back but like I said…boring.


So what am I looking for in a partner, a soulmate…Hmmm…maybe not, especially since I sold my soul to Satan three years ago in exchange for my rock star good looks (I think I got the short end of the stick there), casual doesn’t do it for me either, I reckon permanent part-time describes it best.
I’m looking for someone around my age a few years either way is ok, slim like me would be good too, that way I can borrow your frocks.

I’m not really into cold canvassing for dates, I’d much rather exchange a few emails and chat on line for a while before meeting up. There’s nothing worse than meeting up with someone I don’t know and finding we have nothing in common and then having to spend an hour filled with awkward silences.

I’m actually here for the forums and to make a few friends as much as for the prospect of finding a partner. I find the forums more entertaining than TV these days, though I do enjoy a good movie.

I prefer to skip the first date and go straight to the second one, that way the ice is already broken and can be used to mix margaritas, we can drink these and then stagger down to the beach and watch everyone else going for long romantic walks.
