Hi. My name is Ronald, but like everyone else, you can call me Ron. I moved back to Kinston a little over a year ago, but my busy schedule has kept me from meeting anyone interesting, so I figured I'd give this internet dating thing a shot and see if there's anyone out there who catches my attention.

Right now, school is the most important thing in my life. I'm currently in my third year of studies at East Carolina University where I am a double major in philosophy and religious studies. If all goes well, I will be graduating in December of 2009. My dream is to be accepted into the religious studies program at Chapel Hill after graduation, but failing that, I'd love to get a master's degree in English and spend a year or two teaching it as a second language in another country.

I think that most people would describe me as shy, generous and kind. It generally takes a little while for me to warm up to new people, but those who I'm close to would consider me to be a good friend. I'm a fairly low-key person who's most comfortable in jeans and a pair of flip flops, but when I dress up, I think that my style rides the line between casual and prep. I love tattoos, both on me and on women. I already have two small ones (a star on the inside of my right wrist and a zodiac wheel on my right shoulder) and I'm in the process of getting a partial sleeve on my left arm. I've lived on the east and west coasts, on the northern and southern borders, and have been to most states, but still haven't traveled anywhere near enough to be tired of it.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. I go crazy for anything with ninjas, love art from the Pre-Raphaelite movement and think that Hulk hands are hilarious. I love cartoons and comic books and try to read at least two books a month. I think that Lost is the most important show in the history of television and that Neil Gaiman is the best thing to happen to books since the invention of the printing press. I don't watch a lot of television, but my dvd player is my best friend. Like everyone else you'll meet, I couldn't live without music but my tastes go far beyond what you hear on the radio and I take great joy in introducing people to the brilliant bands and artists that provide the soundtrack for my life. I'll spank you and anyone you know in Guitar Hero, Virtua Fighter and virtually anything on the Wii (yes, I have one and yes, you should be jealous).

As for who I'd like to meet... Physically, I don't have a "type," so I'm open to meeting just about anyone. Of course, there does have to be some physical attraction. As far as personality is concerned, I'd like someone easy going and down to earth. I tend to like women who are smart, fun-loving and just crazy enough to keep me on my toes. My ideal mate would have to love kids and animals, especially dogs, because I plan on having both.

I have no idea what a first "date" with me would be like. I rarely make plans. I usually have no idea what I'm doing until five seconds before I decide it needs to be done and going out with me for the first time would more than likely be true to that form. I'd definitely want something low key since there'd no doubt be a bit of a feeling out process in our first face to face meeting.

Grabbing a pitcher of beer, playing a few games of pool (guaranteed entertainment for you because I'm horrible) and listening to our favorite songs on the jukebox would be cool. Catching some live music and following it up with a few drinks and a good conversation would be even better. Going to a mall to play in the pet store, have a coffee at the bookstore and make fun of people might be interesting. Bowling, miniature golf, and roller skating are all pretty fun, too. I'm open to pretty much anything that keeps us away from the cliche that is dinner and a movie.
