About Me
It was a dark and stormy night....
Actually, the sun was unusually bright for a late summer day, although it wasn't as hot as he expected, given global warming and all. He put his shades back on, took another sip from a cold, sweating bottle of Carta Blanca beer then leaned back into the lounger and recounted the extraordinary events of the last week. "She was intoxicatingly brilliant AND beautiful," he thought...
It all started with a Personals ad on the internet. He had been unattached for a long, long time and his friends urged him to begin dating again. Divorced over 6 years, no kids, he was happily busy with his artwork and almost becoming too reclusive (enjoying his own company more than he thought possible), but knew his friends were right: he had too much to offer and gain to stay on his current course.
So, the signup was easy, and before long, he was corresponding with her, the mysterious, exotic woman whose profile captivated him like no other, whose beatific face brightened his day and whose written words seduced his intellect while simultaneously charming his soul. Although separated by miles of wire and cable between their computers, he could close his eyes and feel her sensuous presence next to him, increasing his longing for a real, in-person rendezvous. They set a coffee date and...
It was even better than he anticipated, anticipation often being too hopeful and resulting in disappointment. She met and maintained his gaze, her smell most subtle but sweet, her spirit lively and her laugh infectious. The evening was magical, and after they parted with a kiss, the sweetness of her breath lingered until he fell into euphoric dreams of the perfect day.
And now, here she was next to him, relaxing in her lounger, sipping a cold one, gazing languidly at the late summer sky, her songlike voice harmonizing with the rapturous Summer Tanager's call from the big oak by the river. He thought, "Four years. I can't believe it's gone so quickly. I never thought it could be so good..."
Epilogue--
Of course, it may never be THAT perfect, but don't you want to aim for the possibility? I do. It doesn't mean that I am Prince Charming or that I can "make" you happy or complete your life or solve all your problems. I'm old enough to know better and hope you are too. My aim is to be completely present and honest with you and take it one day at a time...
Short Actual Bio--
I am a long, tall, gentlemanly professional artist and musician living in rural west Austin. I enjoy almost anything as long as it's new and challenging, including traveling the great out of doors or navigating the philosophical intricacies of the human mind. In short, I am a somewhat dangerous iconoclast, yet civilized & doting. Body of a 30-year old, mind of a sage, keenly honed wit. In for a dime, in for the whole enchilada... Witty, intelligent, well-read, drama-free, philosophical, irreverent, athletic, wine-lover, fly fishing, camping, opera fan, professional artist and musician, website designer, patriotic Texan and citizen of the world.
I'm not much of a NASCAR fan but I love a ride through the Davis Mountains in a convertible or motorcycle. I particularly enjoy the company of intelligent, irreverent women who have a good grasp of irony and the absurd. Physically fit, slim or slender (like me) is a must and a smiling countenance most welcome. Also like me, chronological age not important, but biological and mental age is...
