About Me
"Honesty" ... Really? R-e-e-e-a-l-l-y? I bet that fully 1/2 to 2/3 of the female profiles or headlines that I read on here list "honesty" as a key characteristic or trait; as being an essential element of any guy in whom they'd express any interest.

So, I ask again, "Really?"

How many of the same girls/women "honestly" chose "Average" or "Athletic" as their "Body Type" on here? Hmmm?

I mean, how many of y'all out there - if given the chance to have your guy be *completely* honest with you - wouldn't reject him, or condescend to him because of that honesty? Or, because of his past, which he may choose to "honestly" share with you, in the interest of a strong and stable relationship I just wonder ...

And, no ... I'm no misogynist. Not in the least. I love women of all types. Really, I do! :)

04/18/09 - UPDATE

Oops! Forgot to update this one ... so, yeah. Anyways, I finished the marathon back on April 5th. It took me abut 65 minutes longer than my best marathon time, but, then, that was w-a-a-a-y back in '92! It was the hilliest, windiest course I ever ran, but, no walking. Ran it all. Period.

*QUICK UPDATE* 02/01/09 Having missed out on White Rock (Marathon) back in December, due to a couple of pretty bad overuse injuries, I've recently discovered the Big D Marathon on Sunday, April 5th. Starts and finishes in Fair Park, here in Dallas. Guess what? I am SO there, bay-beee!

Anyways ... we'll see if I'll be able to complete my 7th, and my first official one since '95! Sheesh! I sure as heck better be able to now, huh? After putting it up here, right? Dang!

Now, then ... first things first. About me ... add (3) years to my listed age! I screwed up! And, by the time a friend pointed it out, it was too late to change it. So, apologies to all ...

And, it's (2) Bachelors' Degrees, one with honors; but, I am considering pursuing an MBA; surely it wouldn't take me that much longer, right? :)

I'm mostly looking for good friends and/or dating buddies, (not to be confused with **** buddies!); I miss having close, female companionship in my life ... seems I always get on better with good, female friends than with male friends. Don't get me wrong ~ guys' nights out are essential! I just find it easier to open up to a woman; easier to be myself. I'm not necessarily looking for anything long-term. *BUT* I'm not ruling it out, either. ;) If it happens, then, it happens. Ultimately, yes, I want long-term ... don't we all?

Don't you ever get tired of this site, and others like it? God knows, I do. Paradoxically, I find it somewhat addictive. But, hey, at times I'm a walking enigma! What can I say? :)

I'm a Christian - yes, a born-again believer in God's Only Son - don't always act it, though. I mean, I like to have fun, too, ya' know? The eternal struggle between "good" and "evil" seems very content to reside within me! ;) I guess one could say that I like to have a good time, on occasion, but still find spirituality to be a key ingredient in my life. (btw, "spirituality" doesn't necessarily mean "religion," but religion has been important to me, also.)

Running, eating clean, and the occasional workout/yoga session are a big part of what I do, and of who I am. Currently, I'm running 40-50 miles a week. Don't get me wrong-I enjoy hoisting a few beers now & then, as well as the infrequent "pig-out" at a good tex-mex joint!

The stat bike, or, "spinning" is also kinda' a big deal. Not as important, nor as "good" as, running, but, yeah. Sometimes I'll ride as much as 50-75 miles a week on that darn bike! (In addition to the running.)

Soon, I'd like to get another "real" bike, and maybe attempt a mini-triathlon. Emphasis on the "mini!"

First Date
Hmmmm ... I think any environment that's conducive to good conversation - so, no movies on a first, unless we get there really, really early! :)

How about a walk & a picnic in the park? Or, a few drinks at a quiet place, live music or an outdoor jazz concert, patio drinks, uptown, arts district, a nice meal with drinks or coffee - all are great!
