I've been living in Edmonton since January, slowly getting used to it, I will probably go back to being uncertain with the city come November and the super cold weather.

First off, everyone...stop misrepresenting yourself on this site. Don't claim to be someone you aren't. Don't try to mislead people into talking to you. Sure, you can hide 150 extra pounds with some fancy lighting, camera angles and putting on your profile that your body type as average. Show who you really are. Honesty is important.

I love music, grew up listening to alot of rock, which I still love to this day, i probably listen to alot of music you never knew existed. I love country music too, 80s music, even some random pop and rap.

I am a pretty conservative thinker. I really do alot of things old fashioned but I'm also not closed minded as many conservatives are. One thing which I do not wish to be involved in is being around people who do drugs...not my thing. Yes, pot counts as a drug, again...no thanks.

I don't really know what I'm looking for, I guess more than anything at first would be friendship. However I am at the point in my life where I am entirely open to a long lasting relationship and/or settling down if the right person comes along. I am only 23, but I would consider myself to be very mature in the way I think(I still act like I'm 16 on occasion). I am not afraid to have a serious or emotional side to me.

However, I expect maturity back from you as well. Gone are my days of weekly binge drinking. While I'll still go out and party once in a while...if you have an inability to have fun sober...we are probably not compatable. I want to be around people in similar positions in their lives, either with careers or working towards that. Some nights I think the most entertaining thing to do is spend it cuddled up with someone you care about just watching tv or a movie, the ability to share comfortable silence is important. To quote Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction "That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the **** up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence"

When I'm watching tv, it is usually on sports...other than that my favorite shows are old reruns of Seinfeld (greatest sitcom ever), This is also embarrassing but I am addicted to watching American Gladiators. Oh, and the Price is Right! I'm also a big fan of the food network it inspires me to try and cook, but I'm not great at it. As for movies, some of my favorites are: Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, Dumb and Dumber, Tommy Boy, Anchorman, Superbad, Napoleon Dynamite...or even Grease (yes, I watch the odd musical).

I love kids, I have three of the cutest nieces and nephews ever. They are among my favorite people in the world. Always saying cute and funny things! One day, I hope to have a couple kids of my own too.

In terms of my life right now my work, my friends and my family are the most important things. Sometimes I do put work in front of everything else...it is something I am entirely passionate about and I think alot of people don't understand that. To me my job isn't so much a profession as it is a lifestyle. I guess I am willing to give up alot to succeed in what I do. Sometimes I don't have a social life. But I love my life, and I love my job, so I can't complain.

I have a good sense of humour, I was always the class clown. If I feel comfortable with you, I will make milk (or whatever you're drinking) shoot out your nose multiple times. I can be shy with people when I first meet them, or with unfamiliar surroundings but if there is a connection there, I quickly will have you laughing uncontrolably. My humour coming out is a good sign of compatability.

I absolutely love watching sports live, especially hockey and football, and yes, even though I live in Edmonton I grew up in Calgary and I am a Calgary sports fan. I can be a bit of a sports nerd. I usually take one trip a year to a sporting event down in the US. Been to a couple NFL games, a few MLB games and last year went to a Nascar race in Florida.

something off the wall and beyond the "dinner and a movie" traditional boring dates. First dates should be used to get to know people...and a little awkwardness is always a good way to see people's true nature.
