My favorite things in life are my friends, family, music, and dance (I study, perform, and teach middle eastern dance, aka belly dance). I'm a curious type of person who enjoys learning. Some of my favorite topics are medieval history, world cultures, and learning new crafty stuff. I have a fairly diverse taste in music (from metal to bluegrass and lots in between), and love going to live shows whenever I can. I don't spend a lot of time watching tv, and like to keep active even if its just walking or hiking with my dog.

I'm very social, and have a healthy relationship with my family. I'd like to think I'm open minded and non-judgmental, and I enjoy hearing other people's ideas. I'm affectionate but also independent, and recognize the importance of individuals having their own space.

Ideally, I'd like to meet a guy who has his own interests and hobbies. It'd be great if he were passionate about something, positive but not necessarily happy-shiny, caring, easy going as well as outgoing. If he happens to like watching and making fun of cheesy b-movies that is a big plus. Also, if the pictures don't clue you in--I'm a big woman, and I'm generally more interested in bigger guys :)

If just meeting for the first time I'd like to meet someplace where it's actually possible to talk and start getting to know the person, maybe over coffee or a beer.
