I have the capacity to remember infinite useless trivia and a few useful things as well. If you don't appreciate sarcasm, satire and irony (or don't know what that means), you may not appreciate me. Most of my friends laugh at my humor, but it often crosses the line into the profane and sometimes, I suspect, the profound.

Active in the community and networking, social, political, business. I cook well, loving spicy foods of all sorts. Preparing and enjoying dinner over a nice bottle of wine with an engaging party is one of the simple indulgences in life.

Well-traveled, well-read, with a lifelong thirst for knowledge, particularly History. Love dogs and children of all sizes, especially if they are well-trained and disciplined. (Sorry, "Cat Ladies" need not apply. I am severely allergic to the cat and probably you, your house, your car, your clothes, etc.)

I walk regularly, am fit but not coordinated enough to be athletic and love to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of the Southwest desert and mountains. I have an offroad vehicle for exploring off the beaten path if that sounds interesting. Total "Chilehead"....I cook Cajun, Creole and Italian well and I'm working on southern Asian.

I find much more interest at flea markets or antique stores than shopping malls. I enjoy tasteful elegance with an emphasis on simplicity; things or people that are flashy, loud or ostentatious annoy. Vegas is an anti-vacation, shopping is a bore, consumerism is a turn-off. I really don't dance, but have been known to embarrass myself and a partner on occasion.

What I'm expecting in this venue is to correspond with an engaging lady who has read the above and is intrigued enough to reply. I'm not going to expect a meeting, a date, a one-night stand or a long-term relationship........ but if the chemistry exists and we both want to explore it, all the better. If you want to email and talk first, that's cool. I can provide references as to my nature, character and standing in the community if you would like to check me out independently. I understand that meeting someone online is cause for concern and with good reason.

(OK, why do so many people here post pics of themselves sitting in their cars? When I get behind the wheel, I don't think "Wow, what a good photo opportunity!" It confounds me....if you can think of a good reason, please let me know.)

A quiet casual dinner someplace out of the way so that we can get to know each other better, or coffee, a drink or a walk in the park if you prefer.
